Ok, I admit it! I’m a Pack Rat. I’m an orderly pack rat but still *sighs* I have pack rat tendencies. Maybe I picked it up from my father he’s a pack rat, however he’s a messy packrat and thankfully I’m not like that.

The past few days have been quiet. Why? I’m trying to break some of my pack rat tendencies. I’m reacquainting myself with Ebay. I’ve already donated numerous clothing, television, and a few other electrical appliances to local charities.

Medela Pump In Style I put a breast pump up for sale which sold five minutes after I listed it. Although my price was higher than several of that were selling the exact same thing.

I marketed it well I talked about the pump, it’s benefits, and included bulleted items of what was included along with numbered items of the freebies I tossed in.

I gave away some excellent freebies. I included Pumping Breastmilk Successfully by Susan Stafford and Medications and Mothers Milk by Thomas W. Hale. Although I wasn’t on medication there were members of my online community that were.

I’m a proud breastfeeding mom and am always happy to share or assist new mothers who want to nurse their babies. The benefits for mother and baby are amazing. I took four months maternity leave (last month was unpaid leave.) While I was on maternity leave I contacted Human Resources and asked if there was a spare room I could use to pump. This evening Aiyana was only interested in hobnobbing with mommy and nursing until she fell asleep. If someone would have told me, before she was born, that she would be nursing after two years of age I would have said, No way! Yet here we are almost three years later and she is still nursing. She does not nurse as much as she used to and it is primarily when she is drowsy.

Breastfeeding Makes a Difference!

This weekend I received a letter from the La Leche League. It appears that the annual breastfeeding convention for DC/DC/MD will be coming to Maryland in November! Okay so what’s the problem? The classes are on Sunday. Don’t people know Sunday’s are a working moms (ok this working mom’s) day of rest! Bah humbug! I still think I will go and of course take Aiyana. The special guest speakers will be will include Donna Martin, Dia Michels, and Diana West. I love Dia Michels. I met her when I went to the Breastfeeding Conference in MD/VA/PA in 2003. Dia personally signed two of the books I purchased and I chatted with her after the event was over.
