Vegan Momma: Cookbook update

Posted on June 26th, 2008 in Health/Nutrition, Raw Food, Vegetarian/Vegan by Vegan Momma

vegan-food.jpgThere are many aspects I enjoy about freelance writing. Top on the list is receiving feedback from readers on the various topics I write about. I enjoy interaction. I’ll only write about topics I’m genuinely interested in technology, and in recent years Apple technology, has always kept me captivated. As a writer for an Apple website I have the chance to stay on top of the news that is related to all aspects of Apple. To be honest, it’s something I did even before I started writing exclusively for Apple websites.

Yesterday I read about a new release for a recipe management application, and I was able to try it out for myself. This differs from the ones I’ve used before in that I can actually create my own cookbook. I’ve mentioned on Vegan Momma that I was working on a cookbook. Yesterday I downloaded the application loaded a few of my recipes and wrote an overview about my experience. When I awoke this morning, I found an email from my editor. It appears he knows the people behind this application, and I’ll be able to get a copy of the software. I was planning on purchasing it, but scoring a freebie is very cool.

I started getting freebies long before I started writing for technology websites. Whenever I purchased or downloaded an application I made a point to follow up with the developer letting them know what I thought about the product. I would tell them what I liked about the software and make suggestions on how I thought it could be improved. Thus, far I’ve always received feedback from the developer’s I’ve contacted and I’ve also received free software.

Next week I’ll be on vacation, and I’ll be spending part of my downtime adding my recipes to the cookbook application. I’m planning to release a few ebooks cookbooks also. I haven’t set a release date for them yet but plan to have a free along with a paid version which I’ll be selling on vegan momma and a few of my other websites. I really enjoy cooking. I’ve been preparing meals since I was four years old it’s one of the ways I can express myself creatively. I love preparing meals more important I enjoy preparing healthy meals. It’s the only type you’ll see me prepare I realize that not only is the food I consume a good choice nutritionally they also taste delicious.

The cookbook and ebooks will feature both cooked and raw food vegan dishes. I’ve put a schedule on my iCal and thus far I’m staying on schedule regarding my deadlines.

    Nice…

First of all I’m interested in seeing your cookbook come to fruition. I’m not a vegan but I definitely love some of the stuff I’ve seen you post.

But thanks for the tip on scoring free software…

That’s great! I really like the recipes you’ve posted. It’s great to see more delicious, healthy, and nutritious recipes for people to try. I’m so used to having to adapt everything I find. Sugar? Heavy cream? White flour? … nuh uh, don’t think so.

    Have a great vacation.

    - Creating a book on some of your recipes is indeed exciting. I’m sure you’d copyright what you’d plug into your e-book, but does this application give you the option to create an actual book using a template or what not?
