Exercise: Can someone carry me to my destination, please?

Even though I’m an extremely active person I still got a kick out of the above cartoon. I know a few people like that man.

Today marked my official return to Ballys Total Fitness, although I have been working out daily for the past few months. Getting a good workout, at home, is a non-issue and you can get one even with the bare minimum of equipment. Although I do have my own mini gym at home their are many times when I don’t use the equipment. I always find working the muscles in a different way can bring on muscle soreness.

My workouts are usually intense and todays workout legs, calves, and abs wasn’t any different. My body is starting to talk to me but I was prepared icing down my legs. Which gives me a person excuse to relax, study, and later read.

Before I begin my workout routines, I always stretch; it’s a great way to prevent possible injuries also don’t push yourself too hard. I didn’t. I ended my workout with some sauna time. I was in their for an hour. The skin is our largest eliminative organ. I have found the sauna to be a great way to eliminate toxins within the body.

We all have them. The question is how are we getting rid of them? Some of us aren’t as effective as eliminating as others. That can be caused by constipation, variety of chemicals that we consume in the foods we eat or the products that we use. Over time, what do you think that does to us? Health related problems manifest.

Exercise, I’ve found is a simple but effective way to keep me regular. I also eat a lot of fiber, and the amount of processed foods I eat is minimal. More on this topic in a later post but for now I’m looking for someone to carry me around.

HA! That is a funny cartoon! I don’t watch much television but with all the remotes to the techno gadgets in our home, I don’t know where they all are or what they do. So that could be me looking for the one I need to turn on the ceiling fan. Except my butt is slightly cuter than that, the art above the sofa is different and I don’t know who those two ladies in my kitchen are. heehee. Anyway, I know what you mean about wanting somene to carry you around. I did a bike ride yesterday and my legs and butt are sore.

I agree. Nice cartoon too! Hmm, I can actually relate to that. I was a potato couch. I watch movie all the time, till the day my wife bought a home gym. Hehehe. You guessed it right. Still watching TV, while doing my workout. At least it’s a development. Hahaha. And as for your question about getting rid of the toxins. The most effective way is to drink water regularly. Don’t wait till you feel thirsty, because that only meant that you’re dehydrated. Water transports nutrients and oxygen throughout the body keeping your immune system strong. It carries toxins out of the body helping to prevent illness. And studies have shown that water helps the body to metabolize stored fat. Activity is very important. Aside from that, the best way to eliminate toxins is with fresh, natural foods, juices, and water. Flaxseed is a valuable source of Omega-3 fatty acids, and prevents constipation. You should grind it fresh to get the greatest benefit from it. Soluble and insoluble fiber from whole grains and fruits are important. Catechins and other flavonoids in green tea, apples, berries, and grapefruit are also very powerful and effective.

Of course, you also have to avoid as much as possible the foods that are unhealthy in the first place. Skip the processed grains and sugars and unhealthy fats, and stick to food sources that are natural and organic. The best strategy is to minimize the toxins going in and give your body all the nutrients it needs to handle the rest.

HAHA. That is pretty funny. I exercise pretty regularly and I still find myself in this situation. Good luck with your workouts. I agree completely that stretching should be part of everbody’s pre-workout. Not stretching can greatly increase your risk of getting injured.
