Three years blogging on Vegan Momma

“Know when you’re finished, and when you are, put your pencil or your paintbrush down. All the rest is only life.”

Those were the last two sentences from a book I read yesterday. As I closed the book it felt like I was saying goodbye to an old friend. I guess in some ways I was. Normally it doesn’t take me along to read a book. The book was 611 pages. I usually finish that in a night however it took me a few weeks to complete I’ve been that busy. Thinking about the book I thought those last two sentences was an appropriate ending.

Throughout life, I have made similar statements they haven’t always been easy to make. I’ve been blogging on Vegan Momma for three years. I made my first post on 02/05/05. The last several months have passed by in a blur. I definitely haven’t been as active as I used to be. I guess you could say I’m suffering from blog burnout. Switching my focus and writing on other blogs have helped. It has given me a chance to step back and think of the direction I want to go with this website.

Guess what? I’m still thinking. Honestly at the moment it’s not top on my list of things to do. My business life is in order, and now I’m trying to get my personal life in order and this website is definitely on my “personal list. I imagine many of us have been there trying to separate the things we cannot live without from the things that can be tossed to the side and at times they are picked up at a later time in our life.

I completely forgot that today was a holiday. Regardless of the day, you can usually find me doing some type of work. That is ok I enjoy working for myself. On this day, after my early morning workout which was unusually crowded because people were off, I found myself outside. It was 70 here in Maryland, and I wanted to make the most of the occasion. Aiyana was happy and we spent several hours playing outside. Naturally, I took breaks to do the important things like work.
