Tin Man Really Stunk

Tin Man

I’m a big fan of the Wizard of Oz and although I knew Tin Man wouldn’t be exactly like it. I have to admit I was hoping that I would enjoy it. Wrong! I thought the acting stunk to high heaven. I turned it off after forcing myself to watch the first hour. It stayed on that long because I was hoping it would get better. It didn’t.

Neal McDonough Another reason, I watched Tin Man was to catch a glimpse of the incredibly hot (I think) Neal McDonough however even with hotness I could not be swayed to waste my time watching this movie. Hmm, I wonder if I would be tempted to follow him down a yellow brick road? ;-) Perhaps if he shaved his head bald. I find that very attractive. Is it any surprise that the Big C’s shaves his head. Of course that isn’t the only thing that attracts me.

Tin Man is a mini series I turned it on the last night hoping that it had improved. It hadn’t if anything it seemed to get worse. There was a lot of bad acting going on and some very cheesy effects. As my finger hovered near the off button on the remote my daughter piped up in the background, Mommy would you please turn that off it’s so boring! Those were my exact feelings. Who knows perhaps the parts I missed were actually interesting?

I turned on the television a few moments ago and realized that SciFi is going to torture people again. They will again show it this weekend. I won’t be watching it.

Question: Did you watch the movie? If so did you like or dislike it?

    Hi Opal,

I’m sorry to hear that it stank. I have it recorded on DVR and was hoping to get to it…but as it is “an original Sci-Fi channel production” I had my doubts.

Sci-fi channel makes some of the worst movies, some that even seem like throwbacks to “creature feature” (Mansquito is the best example). I was hoping Tin Man would be better. I like the actor you mentioned (really liked him in “Band of Brothers”) and I also like Zoe Deschanel (”Elf”).

I just noticed your comment from a couple days ago. Thanks. I really missed my personal blogging and maybe I’ll be able to do more of it.

I also noticed your post about associated content. Would you mind emailing me at “frompawayback@hotmail.com” — I’d like to ask you a couple questions.

I didn’t watch it, but I can say that I’ve suffered through many movies based solely on the hotness factor. There have been a few times where the hotness outweighed the agony of having to watch the terrible acting.

I used to watch Farscape on Sci-Fi. They come up with some good shows, but it’s almost like they go for quantity over quality.

I don’t watch much TV. I vaguely remember seeing something about it, but it was wasn’t enough to attract my interest. Other than local and national news, I might watch a total of 4 hours of TV a week … and that might be stretching it.

I certainly am glad, based on what y’all said, that I didn’t get interested in it as I do like The Wizard of Oz.

Funny. TGH Tivo’d this and I watched the first installment last night. I was really interested in seeing it because I had heard one review that made it sound great. But after watching it (and I did watch the whole first installment) I am disappointed in the acting as well as the special effects. But I did like to see Azkadellia - she used to play a part on Beverly Hills, 90210 so I was glad to see she looked familiar to me for a reason. LOL. I may still watch the rest just because I want to see where the story is going. I normally don’t watch a lot of television but when I do I like to see the whole thing - I get sucked into things and that’s one reason I don’t turn the television on a lot at home. ;)

Me and the wife were going to try and catch the replay of this on Sunday, but after this review - NO CHANCE. I’d rather watch the Langoliers again. (#):)

    Tim,
It’s so nice to “see you again”. You’ve been missed. Thank god I missed mansquito. I never even heard of it but the title alone sounds very bad. I like Zoe also but I did not like her in this movie. The acting seemed well…flat!

    pete,
I really tried but it was too painful I did console myself by checking out pictures of him afterwards. That helped, a little!

    Beth,
I actually liked the previews although I thought the wicked witch, “She’s gone to see the wizard” line was flat in the preview. I was expecting a darker Oz. Not mind numbingly boring.

    Calamity,
I’m so happy I wasn’t the only one disappointed. Thank you! :-)

    Tiger Yogiji,
Trust me you didn’t miss much at all. It’s nice to see you again. I missed your blog. I found it today.

    Mike Goad,
You sound like myself. I don’t watch a lot of television. My daughter occasionally watches PBS Sprout thankfully she doesn’t ask me to watch it with her anymore. I’m there but when she watches it I’m working. I’ve become good at tuning that stuff out.

    Pete,
LOL yeah I guess that is something I usually don’t say but that movie was so bad. I couldn’t think of anything nice.

    teeni,
That was Kathleen Robertson yes I remember her from 90210. she really stunk it up in this movie. Such bad acting should not be allowed. She wasn’t the only one they all stunk it up very well.
    Stink. Stank. Stunk.

    Buch Mackel,
Oh, My. God! Don’t watch it. It was awful but then again that is just my opinion. I think the Langoliers was actually better than this. At least I watched that longer before I shut it off.

Yeah, I only brought up The Langoliers because it seems that Sci-Fi keeps showing old Stephen King TV Mini-Series, that included.

At least for me, the good thing is I haven’t seen the mini-series since I was kid so I hardly (if at all) remember them.

You know the saying, “If I don’t remember it, it’s new to me!”

I wholeheartedly agree. It was thrown together and pretty disappointing considering they could have worked the new storyline if they were interested in engaging the audience.

    Macbros,
Trust me you aren’t missing much!

    Talina,
I’ll have to think about that. I don’t watch too much television. :-)

    Bush Mackel,
I liked the book (Langoliers) but the movie wasn’t that good.

    PurpleZoe,
That’s a excellent description. It did feel thrown together. I was disappointed.

    kaylee,
During my internet search it seems a lot of people had the same reaction.

    Self Improvement Ideas,
Well check it out for yourself and see what you think. If you are like myself you will be turning it off, lol.
