A few days ago I mentioned that two of my articles had been published on Associated Content for upfront payment. I had read from others that use this service that the payment after you’ve received an offer is quick. I received payment yesterday one day after my work had been published. That’s not bad. I opted for Payment via Paypal so the transfer was instantaneous.

I use Paypal for as my way of receiving payment. I have my Paypal account connected to a checking account. It’s an account I created solely for making money online. Once the money hits that account I transfer it my regular account. I then put money into investments. At the moment that is where all my money I make online is going. If you are looking for alternate ways to make money online without writing review you might want to consider Associated Content. I consider it supplemental income.

Increase in traffic
Looking at my stats over the past week, I’ve noticed a jump in traffic by at least 100 readers. The numbers weren’t important what brought them there were. I’ve noticed that my referral traffic from other websites has increased along with a slight jump in traffic I’m receiving from search engines.

Pete of my GPS camera phone

Pete recently linked to me when he commented on Pro Blogger’s website. It wasn’t expecting the linkage but definitely appreciated him doing this.

Pete's Comment

Pete gave an example of how a review should be written. He chose the review I wrote about The Myst. I have to say that I’m honored that he chose me. I definitely wasn’t expecting it. I stumble and Digg a lot of articles and although I don’t expect anything in return it’s nice to be recognized. Thanks Pete!

I do write about a lot of services on Vegan Momma the majority of them are free but even for those that aren’t I like to make them “mine” in doing this I believe I’m able to connect with my audience even more.

Chinnee of Demoments

I also want to thank Chinnee I’ve recently stared visiting her website. I like her virtual home. In reality she is thousands of miles away living in Malaysia. It’s a great opportunity for me to get a sneak peek of another culture although in some ways we might be different in many we are similar. I’m mentioning Chinnee because the highest number of personal referrals have come from her virtual home.

On average her visitors stay on my website the longest, If you look at the screenshot I included above you’ll see some numbers. 81 represents the amount of visits I received. The number 6.26 represents the number of pages, and the last number represents the amount of time spent on the website.

I comment and she has linked to me a few times. Thanks Chinnee! I truly enjoy your website. Your a wonderful woman with a loving family. I always enjoy my visits. I also drool over Chinnes’s recipes. She is a talented cook and her creativity shines in the dishes she prepares. your recipes. Keep the positive energy coming.

I have an award to give these two fabulous people, along with a few others, later today.

Recently there were quite a few bloggers that lost their page rank from Google. I lost it on a few websites. Websites where I write only personal reviews. I don’t sell anything on those websites besides affiliate products. Except the obvious companies who sell it does make me wonder how in the world are they determining paid links? Obviously it’s not accurate.

Losing the rank hasn’t bothered me then again I never paid too much attention to page rank. I’ve proven, to myself, that I can make money with websites that had 0 ranking and low traffic. The content was great and I believe I’ve done a great job of keeping people on my website. The average for those websites is now five minutes. Vegan Momma’s average is 1.56.

Increase in Adsense earnings
This past month my adsense earnings took a huge jump and I’m guessing that I’ll be making the $100 payout every month. Not too much has changed in my writing style but I did move my ad blocks around. I completely removed them from the sidebar on Vegan Momma.

Increase in Affiliate Sales
My affiliate sales have increased which is a good thing. I make most of my money from health related products. As with anything else I’ll only recommend a program that I’m knowledgeable about. I don’t see myself promoting something I know nothing about. Suppose the product or service stinks? I’m not going to promote something that I don’t like. Sure, I could promote a lot of products under the sun and I imagine I would be making even more money but to brand myself in a positive way I’m not going to do that.

I work hard on my personal websites truth be told I work almost as hard with them as I do with my regular business. I look at my websites as an outreach on Vegan Momma I’ll talk about almost anything that is on my mind which I imagine is obvious checking out the wide variety of topics I discuss because in real life that’s how I am. I consider this a personal/community based website so I’m not going to be any different online.

My other websites focus on niches that I’m passionate about and that is where I’m making most of the money. I’m almost at the point where I can pay my monthly bills with the money I’m making online. It’s small potatoes what I’m making online. My monthly bills aren’t high (house is paid, car is paid) but it’s still a great feeling. I do think for those that are looking to do exactly what others are doing to make money online will be disappointed. What works for one person won’t necessarily work for another.

It has taken me a lot of trial and error, and I’m still a newbie. I don’t get discouraged and automatically write a program off because it isn’t working for me. How presumptuous is that? It just means that I could not use that program effectively. However, if I’m persistent I might be able to use it effectively. I always think outside the box. I do have mentors that I look up to, but I also realize that their way may not work for me. I have to adjust and be confident enough in myself to do things on my own even if it means making mistakes. That will make me successfully stand out above the crowd.

I’m off to the gym.

I’ve recently had my PR stripped away. Don’t you think it’s ironic that sites like PPP have PR but their bloggers are being stripped of it?!

I know that I read an interview with Matt Cutts who said that sidebar links are generally considered not to be editorially given.

It seems to me that the whole thing is like dolphins being caught in tuna nets. Google just looks stupid.

Yes, AC is a great way to make supplemental income. I’m a professional writer and know many people who start out there. It helps to boost your confidence, gets you great, instant exposure, etc.

Their bonus system is great, too. I haven’t submitted anything in over a year, yet I’m still getting residuals each month.

I applied a long time ago, but they more or less told me that whilst I was on blogger I wasn’t eligible.
    Cheers

    chinnee,
Why thank you. You write well also. It’s what keeps me coming back.

    April,
I noticed that also some of those companies I do think got knocked down like one or two points but I don’t think any of them lost all their PR.

    Amy,
That was a big selling point for me the residual income I can make off od my articles. I had read where a few people were complaining about not getting paid enough for an article and I could not help thinking if they looked at the bigger picture they could keep making money off of that article simple by having people view them. In time you could potentially make more money than you most likely would get paid for that article. Three of my articles have been published so now I believe I can instant publish.

    Maddy,
Really? That’s kind of strange? Your articles aren’t tied to your blog address. Perhaps you should check back. I’ve been to a few people’s websites that write for Associated Content. They use blogger. I wonder why they told you that. You don’t have to have a blog to submit to Associated Content?

I have also had an increase in traffic and I think it’s related to my recent plugin installation- Comment Luv!

Acknowledging your readers, their comments and getting acknowledged builds a reading and writing community that really boosts blog traffic. It’s ethical too!

Have fun at the gym! Don’t get a bloody nose like I did working out today!

    Talina,
Isn’t it great? I’ve been using the plugin for at least a month. I do think my increase is related to the marketing I’ve been doing on other websites and I also have started writing more about veganism/fitness. Initially that is all I used to write about and that turned people off so I went to the extreme where I wasn’t writing about it at all. There is a happy medium somewhere. I’ll find it.

Oh so sorry about the bloody nose! The only time I’ve ever experienced that was during pregnancy. I wasn’t expecting it.

You amaze me once again Opal. I’m humbled by such a prominent mention. Thank you. It was true, though, the write up you did was great and is still the best example of PPP I’ve seen to date. Keep up the great work. You are an inspiration.
