Guest Posting & Exercise From a Vegan Perspective
In a recent post, where I wrote about Associated Content I responded to a comment from Talina. Talina has her own website where she frequently writes about motivation. I believe she’s one of my newer readers at Vegan Momma. I’m really enjoying spending time at her virtual home. It’s a nice place to stop by and she regularly shares tidbits from her daily life. I really enjoy that and she has been added to my RSS feed.
In my reply to her, I mentioned that I would be doing guest posts at another bloggers home. Their website is new to me, but I’m enjoying both of the virtual homes that I’ve visited.
What type of website is it? It’s a foodie website. No, it’s not a vegan cooking website. This cooking website is authored by a gentleman who approaches cooking the same way I do. How do I approach cooking? I don’t follow recipes neither does he. He’s not vegan or even vegetarian. If you’ve read my website for any length of time you know that I don’t have issues with people that aren’t.
I like what he serves up. His choices are very healthy and I believe for those of my readers who aren’t vegetarian you might get some ideas simply by reading his fantastic posts. Even if you are a vegetarian, you can get ideas and with a few simple additions make the meals vegetarian.
Adding other writers to my healthy recipe website has been something I’ve been thinking about for a while. I might have even mentioned it to a few of you, or maybe on here? My main focus will be whole foods recipes and I’ve been thinking about including nonvegan recipes. They won’t be submitted by me. I’m looking for contributions from others. The only criteria are that it has to be healthy. I don’t want junk food on my website. That would pollute my message.
Fitness
I’ve written about fitness before but recently, mainly inspired by Dragon Lady I’ve been seriously thinking about writing more posts on this issue. Fitness is a huge part of my life after all. Dragon Lady is another fabulous blogger that I met through MacBros. I’ve been a faithful reader, mainly via RSS feed, ever since. She’s been making excellent progress with her exercise and weight loss routine. I’m very happy for her. I like her writing, and often she has me laughing because of something she has written about.
I’ve been thinking about including my workout routines on here. As I mentioned I’ve done it before but they went nowhere fast. I didn’t stop exercising but I stopped writing about it on Vegan Momma. I definitely won’t be posting something daily, but maybe I’ll post a few of my exercises weekly along with a short summary of why the exercises are beneficial? What do you think? Fitness has been part of my life since I was a young child so talking and writing about it comes naturally. I love the feeling I have being healthy & fit. I know I don’t write about it much here on Vegan Momma perhaps I should change that?
I’m also thinking of writing it from a vegan perspective. I am a vegan after all, right? Many comments I’ve received in the gym have been interesting and shows that there are numerous people out there that still have misconceptions about veganism as it relates to fitness. I’m definitely not a weakling and I’m healthy. This made me think if I’m encountering that within the gym obviously there will be people online that have some of these same misconceptions. Maybe I should be doing more in addressing that issue?
Fitness Updates
I’m trying to make a point to get in the gym five days weekly. With my schedule, it’s going to be challenging. It’s a lot easier for me to work out at home. Which, I do religiously. I’ve been wanting to hook up with a training partner for quite some time working out at the gym will accomplish this who knows I might be able to squeeze a Figure competition in sometime soon. I would really love that. I’ve been somewhat bummed that I haven’t had a chance to pursue that as I would like.

Two points: I’m a big fan of guest posting. I think there will be sites/services materialize that will cater to it, much like PPP has served the market for paid posting. Honest, mutual linking and posting can be a viable function that I think google would get behind.
Also, I’m on a diet and eating mostly veggies… getting a little rough, but starting to pay off.

DragonLady,
Don’t beat yourself up. Today is a new day. Time to hop back. stay focused and you’ll reach your goals regardless of the obstacles that stand in your path. Your mind is powerful use it to your advantage. Flood it with postive messages about weight loss, exercise, and the end results.
James Lee,
I never thought about that but I believe you are right. As it stands now it appears that Google, and some people, are starting to look at any type of linking to companies as a paid link. That’s simply not true. I give out free links often.
Congrats on the diet. There are lots of delicious ways you can eat vegetables. I have a cooking website where I write about some of those ways.

Guest posting is such an awesome idea and it really does build up your readership and it ties many blogs together through relevant linking. It also gives the blog owner a little break from their own blog and a chance to try something new!
If you are looking for some healthy recipes I have some I would love to guest post.. We support “slow food” in our city by buying shares of locally grown foods from our CSA.
Well, thanks for linking back to my site, and thanks for reading my posts! Follow your heart and your gut. Write about what you are drawn to and I will read it! ;-)

It’s easier for me to work out at the fitness center. I was aiming for 5 days a week, too. Made that last week for the first time. This week, it’s going to be six. Of course, being retired, it’s easier to make time for it.

I just wish there were something easier than take out. :p
I just hate to cook, maybe because it’s my full time job.

teeni,
Thanks a lot. I have to do more over there. I’ll get around to it.
Talina,
Yes, I’m really looking forward to the guest posting. I just need sure that I find the time to squeeze it in. I’ll do it. This will be the first time I’ve guest posted on someones blog before.
Thanks for the offer. I’ll definitely take up up on it. Aren’t CSA’s (Community Supported Agriculture’s) wonderful? I love them. During the winter months some of my produce is provided by CSA’s.
Mike Goad,
You’re on a roll to with fitness. You’re doing great. You seem like one busy man, even if you are retired, so I’m impressed that you are finding the time to squeeze in the workouts.
MacBros,
Well you could always make food in batches. It might not be easier but it would be cheaper and most likely a healthier option. You can save a lot of money simply by making a lot of your meals. ;-)
chinnee,
Mike is awesome isn’t he? He’s another source of inspiration. He’s also a wealth of information.

Your fitness posts are inspiring. I have not been exercising enough recently but you have started to make me think about getting my running shoes back on, even if it is snowing outside!

Yes, me too, feeling very happy here.
