Make Money Online with Associated Content

Join Associated Content

In a recent post I wrote about submitting articles to Associated Content. I’ve been a member of Associate content since May. Although I wasn’t actively using Associated Content I really like the quality of the articles I see there. I’m a frequent reader. Well I finally got around to publishing a few of my own articles.

It’s a great way to market myself and at the same time it’s another way I can make money online. Last week one of my articles was published based on Performance. I told my blog readers here about that and I even mentioned it to the Big C. Just like my readers he was happy for me. He knows I love writing.

I enjoy writing not only on my websites, but other websites, and I do believe this is yet another way that I can bring traffic to my website if I market myself effectively on Associated Content. The majority of my articles will be about veganism, alternative healing, and fitness. Those are topics I’m very knowledgeable about. I’ll never run out of content.

I’m Not Dependent On Search Engines To Receive Traffic

I’ve set up my websites so that I’m not solely dependent on search engines for traffic. I’ve wrote about this on Bush Mackel’s website and to a certain extent The Brown Barons‘ website. Regardless if the search engines send any traffic my way I’ll still receive traffic and for those websites I’ve monetized I’ll still get paid.

Seeing a few websites, get their ranking stripped, and observing them making changes not because they wanted to but because they are dependent on Google made me work even harder to promote myself without search engines. If I don’t like how something is done don’t expect me to change. Sorry, I’m not going out like that. I can say that because I’m not dependent on them.

The good news is one of my newer websites is starting to do well. Currently that website is averaging me $100 weekly. I haven’t had much time to devote or market it as I would like however I do have a lot of content there and it’s all mine. Moving forward I do see it doin g very well. I just need time to market the website. The majority of the money I make their is via affiliate marketing. I also make money with adsense but it doesn’t compare to my affiliate sales. The only reviews done on that website are personal reviews.

Associated Approves One Of My Articles For Up Front Payment

I’m happy to say that today one of my articles Stretch Mark Prevention For Pregnancy: Healing Recipes And More was approved for upfront payment. I orignally purchased it as Healing Yourself Naturally’s Nourishing Body Balm. Initially it was declined because it was too commercial within the title and my article I promote my website. could not use the title because it was too commercial. I was promoting my website. I made the changes, submitted, and I received an offer today.

The offers you receive from Associated Content will vary. I believe it’s between $3 - $20. If a publisher were to contact you directly naturally you have the potential to receive a lot more. The main reason I’m publishing my articles is simply because it’s another way to get my name out there.

The great thing is I’ll still receive payment based on performance. How? It’s based on the page views my article has received. Currently, my article is in the pending status for payment but once it has been approved I’ll link to the article. It’s a nonexclusive article which came from my Healing Yourself Naturally Website.

Make Sure You Include your Byline

If you do submit an article to Associated Content for non exclusive payment and you are submitting an article that appears on your blog make sure that your byline is included on your blog. One of my articles was rejected because I did not have a byline. A few of my Wordpress themes don’t automatically do this but it was as simple as changing a few lines of code to insure that my byline “Opal Tribble” shows up every single time I post. I made the changes and it was approved.

Upcoming Review: Full Review Of Associated Content

I’ll be writing a thorough review of Associated Content at the beginning of next year at the moment I’m still learning about all the features they have to offer. I do have to say their customer service is excellent. Initially, when I signed up for Associated Content it was not processing my registration. I sent them an email and one of their marketing associates contacted me. Therese was extremely helpful and thanks to her I was online in no time.

If you are looking at another way to brand yourself and make money at the same time submit your articles to Associated Content.

Opal, I think Google is doing something really funny….

Not har, har, har funny… but strange funny.

I’ve been experiencing some up and downs also, primarily because I am outgrowing my server and now have to start learning how to make my own rack. Which I’m so clueless about.

You are so right on not relying on page rank but for the searchable content and keyword maximization.

Hey, congrats on the article! You know, you are setting a benchmark precedent here that is hard to beat.

Great info on AC!! I am also a writer there and got a post published about Feng Shui (http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/456305/spice_up_your_love_life_with_feng_shui.html)
I am having a good time with them but I too write for many other sites.. What other sites do you get paid to write for?

    Sharon,
Yeah Google can be funny at times? ;-) The majority of the times I don’t understand what they are doing.

That sounds like good news outgrowing your server and moving onto a rack. I’m hoping that you can figure that out.

I can honestly say that I don’t care about the page rank. The content that goes into my website is what matters to me and effectively utilizing keywords is very helpful.
You’ve done a great job in showing me how to effectively market my personal website and that has been extremely helpful to me. I really appreciate it. Thank you! What’s interesting is that some people will ask me now how I’m making money online. What works for me won’t necessarily work for someone else. It takes a lot of work.

If it were easy, everyone would be making money online. That won’t happen because many will give up too quickly. I’m starting to make a little money online, but I still have a way to go, but I know I’ll do well with my personal websites.

    Talina,
Excellent Article. I’ going to subscribe to your list. I write for Helium. I’m not really impressed with them but I’ll still use them for a month and write a review about them also.

I’ve been approached by a few syndicated news websites that want to feature my work. The sites are mainstream so that means I can reach a lot more people by submitting some of my work. I don’t get paid for those websites but I will get a lot of exposure and in the long run that will definitely pay off. I did receive an offer today that I’m happy about. It’s another blogger who writes about food. He emailed me and asked if I would be interested in doing guest posts on his website. Of course I’m interested so I’ll be sending him an email later today.

Hey Opal, I have been at Associated Content for a while but am only just thinking about writing for them.

I am thinking about moving my blog to Wordpress, so will lose pagerank and to make it worse, I may just change the URL slightly too!!

So I may need to seriously look into promoting my site without Google help.

Oh and another thing….. I tried Digging 2 of your articles and they keep saying invalid URL! Am I doing something wrong?

Actually my PR was also stripped by google from 5 to 3 but it is no biggie since I am not after. As you said it I also work hard to be not dependent on search engines as well as building readership.

But anyway I am always in awe about your skill on earning money online.

I’ve heard quite a bit about Associated Content. Oddly enough, the first time I heard it was in a high-school debate competition. The other team quoted one of the articles, claiming it was from part of the Associated Press. :P
