Website Updates: 11/30/07

Posted on November 30th, 2007 in In The News by Vegan Momma

Why am I telling you what’s up on Vegan Momma? Well you are my readers so I think I should keep you informed with what’s going on, right.

Hiring A Writer/Blogger

I’m not hiring right away and it won’t be for Vegan Momma. It will be for another website. Online monetization is going well, and I’m looking to hire someone to write for a website. It’s something I’ve been thinking about for several months. I’m going to start it out with one and see how that goes but if it goes well I’ll be hiring more writers for other projects.

I’m not straying from what I know so the niche websites will be an extension of what I already have. If you have read my website for any length of time or know me in person you’ll know that I like knowing every aspect of an operation I’m involved with. Creating websites for profit is no different. If I’m not knowledgeable about the subject I’m not going to touch it.

Presently I’m thinking of paying a flat fee to the writer until revenue starts rolling in and at that time giving the person a % of the profits. The majority of the marketing will be handled by myself, but the writer is expected to market themselves by being friendly and interacting with those that stop by the website. Hiring a writer will free me up from writing and give me the chance to do enable me to do a lot more marketing. I’ll be doing that online and offline.

Will I be posting a position? I’m not sure I most likely will be approaching the person I think is the right fit for the position. I visit a lot of people on the internet which is helpful and has established some great connections I most likely will approach someone that I already know or will meet. I’ll be looking for the person that fits the website. I’m taking my time on this since there are still a few things I need to work out, but I’ll probably be actively looking for someone in the late Spring or Summer of 2008. I told you I have a lot of thinking to do.

Join Associated Content

Associated Content Published My Article

I wrote about High Blood Pressure? Six Ways You Can Lower It Naturally this past summer on Vegan Momma and I decided to submit it to Associated Content. Associated Content gives me the chance to connect with more people. I really like that. If they like what I’ve written perhaps they will check out my websites or if they are looking for a writer they might contact me.

I’m always looking for ways to reach more people and publishing or, in this case, republishing articles for online websites that have a high following is a smart move. Guess what you can make money from the articles you publish. You can receive an upfront payment or make money via page views. You can also make money using upfront payment & pageviews. I’ve added a few of my websites to my profile. It is yet another way that people can contact me. I’ve set up my websites where they aren’t solely dependent on search engines for traffic. I’ll still make money without them.

Check out my article when you have the chance. If you are interested in joining consider signing up under myself. It raises my clout level and you can make some money by publishing your own articles in the process. I’ve been a member of Associated Content since May and I recently got around to publishing content there. However I’ve been actively publishing at a few other places under my name and as a Ghost Writer.

Currently I have about eight articles that have been submitted to Associated Content within the past few days. Hopefully, they will be approved and I’ll receive payment. One of the many things I like about Associated Content is that submitting an article does not mean it will be approved. It does not work like that in the real world of publishing so why do people think it should work like that online?

Helium Published My Article

A few days ago my article All Natural Sugar Scrubs That Pamper Your Skin was published on Helium. It became a featured article.

Another Domain Purchase

Yes, I bought another one. This is another one that I believe will do very well monetarily but I’m not rolling it out until late next year but I thought it was wise to purchase the domain now. Initially I’ll get it started myself and then if it does well I’ll hire someone to keep it moving.
November’s Adsense Paycheck Rolls In Next Month

This month I’ve met the $100 requirement so my Google Adsense check should be landing in my bank account sometime in December. Adsense has been very good to me. Affiliate marketing has been so much better. Paid reviews is at the bottom of the barrel I don’t write a lot of them. I don’t think putting too much of them on Vegan Momma would work. I look at Vegan Momma as a community website.

I’m not condemning anyone who makes the majority of their money from their website. I congratulate those who can do it. Vegan Momma simply wasn’t created for that purpose. However, a few of my websites have been. I created them because I saw the potential of the money I could be making online if I marketed them effectively.

On Vegan Momma, I’ll write about what is going on in my life. Trust me vegan’s are as normal, weird, and wacky as anyone else. The only difference is that we choose not to eat animals. You won’t hear me writing about veganism every single week I have another website that deals with everything vegan. I strive to connect readers with others or point them to services that I think is cool. There are so many positive folks out there.

Investing in My Websites

Starting in the new year a certain % of the money I make from my personal websites will be set aside for marketing which will be sunk back into my websites. Which means be prepared for overhauls on Vegan Momma and my websites sometime next year. I’ll be hiring some web designers. On Vegan Momma I’ll ask your opinion before I make the change. Currently all the money I make online, from my personal websites, go into investments and savings.

Effective Branding

Initially, when I started creating my websites I was not aggressive when it came to networking; however, this past April I realized there was so much I could do if I made an effort just as I do with my “regular business.” If you think you can sit on your virtual behind and make money online well you most likely won’t make money online.

It takes a lot of work. I put a lot of hours into my personal websites. It’s starting to pay off. I don’t do to much monetizing on Vegan Momma although I could if I wanted to my other websites are doing very well and that makes me very happy.

I realized the importance of reaching out not only to those within the same niche as myself but extending that outreach even further just because they don’t happen to have the same niche someone on their website might be into that thing.

    Pelf,
Thanks! I enjoy it if you had asked me at the beginning of this year would I be doing all this I would have said, “It’s highly unlikely”. I learned long ago not to say “never” when it comes to certain things because at times your feelings do change.

That is great about your planned updates! I think it is wonderful that you keep your readers in the loop. Also, congrats on getting your articles published! That is most awesome! It must feel kind of nice to know that others think that highly of your material and products. It is wonderful to see so much growth happening for you and your sites. I hope I can keep up!
