Hanging the Christmas Lights
Our Christmas tree went up on Monday, and now we are moving to hanging the Christmas tree lights on the hedges outside. My daughter, is naturally excited, and I’m naturally not eagerly awaiting hanging the lights on the outside. Why am I getting flashes of Chevy Chase Christmas vacation in my head.Thankfully, for me, I don’t put lights on my house nor am I trying to blind my neighbors with a Christmas has driven me crazy light show. My daughter, although napping presently, is excited about the lights. At nighttime I’ll usually catch her gazing out of our windows taking in the view of the pretty lights. I have to admit although simple they are truly beautiful.
Question: Will you be hanging lights around your house?

That was a good movie. You’ll like Deck the Halls too if you haven’t already seen it.

MacBros,
I haven’t seen Deck the Halls but I’ll be sure to check it out. I usually watch Christmas vacation every year for some reason I can completely see you being a Clark Griswold. :lol:

We will do it soon but not this weekend.. we are getting the much anticipated winter weather this weekend so it will be too cold to hang lights or cut our Christmas tree down.. Maybe next weekend!

Our lights went up outside day before yesterday. Karen put them up while I was working on the shop.
We put the tree up last night. I even helped this year. I’m usually a bit of a scrooge when it comes to putting up the tree. When the kids were still home, they’d help and I’d be taking pictures. With just Karen and me, I guess it’s just not the same.

Last year, my roommate left Christmas lights on the bushes out front until summer… :mad:

No lights for me but two of my neighbors seem to compete each year for who can have the most lights/obnoxious decorations every year. Since we don’t have many houses on our street, those two houses pretty much light up the whole neighborhood. And when I say obnoxious I mean the big old scary looking plastic light up lifesized Santa and all that. LOL. I do enjoy driving around and seeing lights at night though.

I love that movie and Clarkes advent calendar. We live in an apartment, but we have 2 balconies which we decorate.

We don’t do outdoor lights but we like to see lights-except for that big snowman in a bubble display. ;

We did go out and cut our own tree this year, this past weekend. We were going to hang lights aside this weekend also, but a big storm was in the forecast.
It was lucky we didn’t hang our lights, the coast received 140 mph winds, and we received almost 5 inches of rain in less than 2 days.
The weather has started to calm down and I am hoping to hang our outside lights this weekend.
