Positive People And A Amazon Affiliate First, Yesterday was a Great Day, Today Will Be Even Better
Spotted Cucumber Beetle
I took this picture yesterday. Thanks to the book I purchased Aiyana and I were thrilled to see a few spotted cucumber beetles outside yesterday. They weren’t moving around too much. It was very chilly! We took a few shots as they nibbled on the daisies. I ws able to identify them thanks to my book on insects.
Insects: The Natural History And Diversity is turning out to be as good as the reviews I’ve seen written about it. Our daisies are nearing the end of their season and although some of them looked scraggly like this one. I still find it beautiful.
Have you ever had one of those days when it feels like nothing can go wrong? The decisions you make, the news you receive are on point. I had that type of day yesterday. It was one of the busiest I’ve had in a while but it was extremely rewarding. At times we all need cheerleaders to let us know that what we are doing is working and I had my share of them yesterday.
Yesterday I received more than my normal share of emails from people who have surfed onto some of my websites. A few hours was spent replying to their emails. I do my best to respond to emails in a timely fashion and when I see a new person emailing me I usually try to follow up with them first. I’m always happy to help if I can there have been many people that have assisted me even at times when I have not asked. I rarely ask for help, so I try to do my part and keep that positive vibe going.
It’s Better To Give And At Times It’s Nice To Receive
I received a few gifts from two of my readers yesterday and I’ll be writing about that in another post because well they deserve their time in the spotlight. I actually had some down time yesterday after my daughter was sleeping. How did I spend it? I spent it working on one of my websites that has received a major overhaul!
Ms. Teenie aka eagle eyes aka the puppet queen spotted it when she landed on that website. I can’t say that I’m surprised because I do know she is one that regularly checks the majority of my websites. I don’t expect people to do that because well I know that those websites won’t appeal to my readers here but that’s teeni. I’ve seen her do it with others also.
She does visit people I yap about on my posts. She’s an energetic social butterfly. Thanks for being you teeni! We all need a teeni in our lives. I’m happy you are part of mine.

Amazon Associates Was Very Good To Me
I topped the $100 in one day with Amazon. Thanks to my amazon search bar. Thats the most I’ve ever made with Amazon in one day. I’ve been using them for a few months. I use other affiliates and have made over $100 in a day. It was a nice feeling.
About a week ago Bobby Revell asked me if I would write a tutorial of what I’m doing with Amazon. I’ll try to knock that out in a few weeks. The main thing is I kept at it. I’m at the point where I’m averaging a sale per day. Don’t expect things to happen overnight it’s not magic. It’s work.
I do think in time I’ll be averaging several sales per day from this one affiliate program. I belong to several. I kept at Amazon. I was not disappointed when I wasn’t making anything. I knew in time that would change, did not give up. Well, it’s finally paying off! In one day I’ve made more than I make with a one month of Adsense. I average $60 per month with Adsense.
In fact I was so impressed I emailed Thomas the I Hate Spam Guy and told him about it. Check out his take on Green Eggs and Ham, I Do Not Like You Spam I Am there are many of us that aren’t fond of Spam and he has put it into a rhyme. Digg his article or Stumble it (I did both) if you don’t like Spam!
What will I do with the money I make online? The majority of it will go into savings/investments.
The Power of Positive Thinking
I rarely have bad days sure there are times when my days are challenging but I try not to think of it as a negative I can learn from every situation I encounter and even if I’m facing a huge obstacle I know I’ll get to the other side in doing so it will help me if I face it again and hopefully I can share my experience with others.
I enjoy waking up each morning! As soon as I’m awake I’m ready to go and I’m happy to say that yesterday was a fabulous day. I was able to connect with a few people that I haven’t chatted with in a while, I was able to connect with a few new readers who contacted me thanks to my “contact me” form.
Yesterday was a great day. Today will be even better
Question: How is your day? Any plans for the weekend?

Chinnee,
That’s a good point at times people get so wrapped up with what they did in the past they fail to prepare for their future.

Wow - I loved reading this post! It’s so great to hear the smile in your voice even though I know you are incredibly busy! There’s that positive attitude working for you! I’m looking forward to the tutorial post. I am always learning new things from you - this would just be slightly more formal.
Thanks for the link love - you always accepted me in all my imperfections and always make time for me - I’m glad I have you in my life too, my dear friend. It wouldn’t be the same without you and I credit you and several of my other bloggy buddies for making my blog/internet experience one of the most positive experiences I’ve had! Cheers! **toasts you with some organic sparkling apple juice**

teeni,
I think it is important to always recognize the people who are important in our lives not only in real life but also online. Many friendships are created over the net.
pete,
I was happy about that. It’s not been my highest day but it has been my highest with Amazon. A few of my website can be found in the bottom right hand corner.
My attitude about online monetization is still changing. I started in April. Although I don’t do a lot of paid posts, as a business owner, I can see the impact they can have in marketing your company. It’s also good for the blogger since they can make money in the process. If they write a thorough review they might be contacted directly. I’m contacted weekly for ad placements on a few of my websites. That says a lot about the content I provide and the paid reviews I write. I dig deep into their websites and some of them have contacted me directly stating that the other reviewers did not do that. I make a point to stand out in a positive way. There are many business owners who cannot afford the “regular advertisements” so for these small business owners things like paid reviews is a blessing. It can be a great way to market their business. My main focus for monetization with my personal websites is affiliate marketing. I’m doing fairly well and I know I’ll do better.
Three of them are being converted, or are in the process of being converted to WordPress CMS. It’s a huge weight off my shoulders since I don’t feel pressured to update as often as my blogs.
Djahna,
Yes we all have those days and I think it’s important to remember them especially when we face those tough times. I think many of us have cheerleaders whether we know it or not.
I have found, personally, that the more I do for others the more cheerleaders I have. It definitely isn’t why I help others (I truly enjoy giving) but it’s something I’ve noticed. It’s always good to be cheerleaders for others. Everyone needs one in their life.
Kaylee,
I hope you feel better soon. Try to have those great days all the time. Your mind is powerful fill it with positive thoughts regardless of how bad things are.
pelf,
Aww your still in the library? I’m sure it will and then you’ll be thankful that you put all that time and energy into your thesis. :-)
I’ll send some energy your way.

Our mind is very powerful indeed. I always tell my children: Don’t let little things make you unhappy. You choose whether to be happy or not.

JO-N,
That is so true! Your mind is very powerful it can work for us or against us. My mind is my #1 cheerleader.
Antibarbie,
Yes I was shocked but happy.
Forest Parks,
Thanks,
I believe the beetle is in the lady bug family. I’ll double check to make sure.
Sharon,
Three of my websites got hit that day. They were big ticket items. I have the search bar and I link to their products occasionally when I write about products I have used. I get the most hits simply using linking to the products I’ve purchased. All that extra work with the manual linking is starting to pay off. I use the performance based model so I could make up to 10% per sale. The products purchased are starting to add up which means the % I get per sale is increasing.
Christmas season is here, people are spending for the holidays. I honestly believe I’ll do well with Amazon this Christmas season and from now on. The important thing is I kept at it. You of all people know that’s imperative. I’m stubborn I knew it would eventually pay off and it is. The trickle is tiny right now but it will increase. I owe a lot of thanks to you. You really helped this newbie affiliate the more I learned the more I realized it was similar to running my regular business. ;-) I will not forget what you have done. Thanks so much.

You are an Amazon woman - simply amazing.
Congratulations to you Opal and little Miss A. My wish for you is that the income levels double by the New Year and then stay that way.
My next wish is that you will come and visit me in Australia. I would love to have you both and give you back some pampering and care in the botanic garden of the Australian out back.

Opal, I’ve almost convinced myself to take another stab at Amazon.
Remember what you said about people not appreciating affiliate links because they don’t know how to work it effectively? I feel the same way with Amazon. But it’s because I haven’t found the flow…..

Megan,
How sweet of you. That would be nice. :-)
Veggies, Crafts, & Tails,
That’s great that you have been having a feel good day. :-)
Sibbia,
You’re welcome! I’ll probably crank it out when I’m on vacation when I have some down time.
Andy Bailey,
I don’t feel qualified to do them yah know. I still am a small fish but I do think that eventually the amount of work I have put into those links will pay off. You have to do more than drop pretty ad blocks in order to be effective with affiliate marketing. Those who think that is all they need to do really need to take time and really get to understand it.
Sharon,
I know you would do well. I felt the same way about CJ in the beginning. I wasn’t putting a lot of time into it and of course I wasn’t having the results I wanted. I needed to learn how to use it effectively. Amazon was easy I’ve been linking to their products long before I was an Amazon associate.
Gerri,
Thank you! :-)

Amazon Associates is a great program and I also use more than year. first months was totally dead but now for the last 2 months I have begun to take back what I have invested. I built many many product review links with Amazon on my blogs during the year. Since now they are indexed in search engines deeply, they began to generate sales with traffic. Keep up good working
