The Mac Diva

In an earlier post, Overcoming Obstacles: Turning I can’t Into I Can , I mentioned how I moved my ferrets website, Ferrets Haven to another website. The Mac Diva was moved also. As with with Ferrets Haven I had to add all the pictures back onto the server. I’m happy to say that that, with the exception of one post, The Mac Diva is done!

I don’t post often on The Mac Diva. I’ve written under 60 articles since it was created this past June however some of the posts have received a fair amount of traffic. When I created it I still was not sure exactly what direction I was going to take. I did have an “idea” thankfully I know the direction I want to go with this website and over the next few weeks I’ll be making some changes.

Making Money With A PR Of O

Today was the first day I added some adsense blocks on The Mac Diva. I’ll be curious to see how they do. I’m seeing a lot more people making money online many of the ones that are my blog buddies do it well. Occasionally I do read or hear people making inaccurate assumptions about people who monetize their websites. You cannot make blanket statements about people.

Anyway The Mac Diva was one of my websites that had a PR 0f 0 that did very well with affiliate marketing. I have a few other that did well also. They did a lot better than Vegan Momma and guess what they all had a PR of O. I made more using affiliates than I did with adsense or Paid posts combined, and yes I have received a paycheck from Google. I posted about that last month.

This is one of the websites that does get contacted by advertisers weekly. This website, Vegan Momma, is the other one. I have not done any paid reviews on The Mac Diva. I enjoy technology so naturally I want a place where I can write about it all the time. Not too long ago I was contacted by a developer on my Mac website. They want me to review their product.

Sunday Free Day

I’m not going to do too much work on the website today. It’s a beautiful day outside and I’m definitely not going to be spending my time on the computer. I had an exam yesterday which I aced. I received an A+. I have declared this to be a “free day”. I’m off to hang with my daughter. I hope everyone has a sparkling day! :-)

Oh, Congratulations on your exam! That is wonderful! Of course, I’m not surprised though!!! I know you’ve been busy (and yes, you are entitled to a life away from the computer - no pressure - but wanted to also let you know you’ve been missed around the blogosphere lately. Hopefully you and Aiyana had a great day off!

Hi Opal! I have $500.00 more dollars to save in my Mac dream machine account before I buy it

I checked out your MacDiva site…very cool! I am seeing the idea of “niche” in a much clearer way now, thanks to you!

Many of the comments you’ve left me have had a major impact on the way I perceive niche sites. I really appreciate your great attitude and I think you have a knack for teaching people in a way that they may not realize they’ve learned something until it hits them!

When I get my Mac perhaps I’ll start a similar niche site and give you lots of extra support. I stumbled and reviewed your MacDiva homepage

    teeni,
Thanks, I had to step away from the computer. I was facing “computer burnout”. I’ve been doing a lot of studying lately.

    Bobby Revell,
Thanks for the Stumble. Perhaps one day more people will realize how important stumbling is eh? It gives a website a whole new audience. It’s just another way I can be a good virtual neighbor.

When I first started Vegan Momma that was leaning towards a “niche” website but I realized I honestly did not want to write about veganism on my blog.

My landing page aka static pages on Vegan Momma will be my niche. I’m currently working on articles focused on Veganism and environmental issues.

Mac Diva is a niche that is fairly new to me and it’s why I created it. I knew if I set up a virtual spot where I write exclusively about Mac’s then it would challenge me to learn even more about it.

My way to get people to look at things differently is to give a lot of examples, if I have personal experience I’ll toss that in as well. Insulting a person simply because they don’t think the same way I do would not be effective and it usually alienates that individual.

I do have long term goals for that website but at the moment I’m taking baby steps and enjoying the ride. What I love about my niche websites is that I can write about one topic all the time. Those people looking for one subject will be able to find it easily on those websites.

I think, at times, people forget that we all use a “niche” whether it be a website, book, consultant, etc., Occasionally we want information that stays on topic.

Kudos to you girl! I don’t know how you juggle so many websites. It would make me crazy. Just this blog alone is enough work to kill all my free time!

well done on your exam! I knew you’d be fine

I think your PR (pagerank) for your sites pales in comparison to your own personal PR (public relations), it’s probably why you can make more money with affiliate programs on those blogs, you have a good writing style and people trust you so the products you recommend will sell more often than click-thru’s on adsense blocks.

I hope your enjoyed your Sunday, you deserve it!
