This picture was taken last November, 11/25/06, to be exact. I was on vacation in South Carolina. We were about to be hit with a big storm. This shot is overlooking Lake Marion.

The view from our condo was gorgeous. We were right on the waterfront. I was standing on the patio snapping shots when I took this picture. The color you see on these trees are accurate. I was amazed at the color I saw. It reminded me of the trees that line the road that goes into our community.

Anyway, I took hundreds of shots of these trees and I believe this is the first day I’ve put any of them on the internet even though they were taken almost a year ago. I had fun on that day capturing the shots of the trees, and the storm clouds in the sky.

This picture was made into a 11×17 poster, framed and was given to a family member that had requested a copy. Thanks to the Epson Stylus R2400 Photo Printer that I purchased this past December I had an amazing picture. The print was just as good as getting a copy from a professional photo studio.

I told Beth of Eclectic Studio Cafe that I would be taking pictures of Autumn. The leaves surely are beautiful in these parts, and I know I’ll have a great time capture what I see. To get back to our tiny community you have to drive about a mile back on a heavily wooded gently curving road. In a later post I’ll post pictures and tag a few people so we can see their version of autumn.

Vegan Chili: Comfort Food On A Chilly Day

Vegan Chili: Black Bean Chili & Brown Rice

Vegan Black Bean Chili & Brown Rice

Now that’s my idea of comfort food. I made this a few days ago and of course posted it on My vegan recipe website, The Raw & The Cooked. This chili has a lot of kick. I added chilis from my garden. I also dry them, grind them up and add them to dishes when I don’t want as much heat. My daughter loves spicy food also.

The past few days we have seen a change in weather. We’ve received a lot of rain, we needed it, making chili a few days ago was perfect for our chilly weather. The vegan chili tasted great the first day but even better yesterday. My daughter ate a very large bowl. She asked for brown rice so I made that also.

Question: What are some of your favorite comfort foods.
