PhotoShow: 100 Meters

Driveway

Our Driveway

Have you ever been curious what your blogging buddies see around their home? I know I have. Andy Bailey answered that question when he posted what he saw 100 meters from his home. He also tagged me for the PhotoShow: 100 Meters. Are you curious as to what I see when I step outside my home?

The picture above is what you will see as you are coming up our driveway. I took this photo this morning. The fog is thick and I sure love capturing that. If we’re outside you’ll mostly be greeted by my daughter, Aiyana, and our Shih Tzu, Mr. Bentley.

Don’t worry I’m only a few meters/feet behind them. I’m most likely doing some gardening or perhaps taking pictures. You know what? Those two won’t wait for you to step out of the car. You’ll find them waiting excitedly right outside your door eagerly awaiting to welcome you.

Mr. Bentley

Mr. Bentley doing the 100 meter dash

What will they be doing? Most likely Ms. Aiyana will be jumping up and down laughing and Mr Bentley will be prancing around barking excitedly. In his doggie way he is telling you to…”Open the door! Open the door!” I’m warning you be prepared because as soon as open that door you will be greeted with chatter from Aiyana and licks and tail wags from Mr. B.

Please let me know if you don’t like dogs giving you a lot of attention I’ll be sure to hold him back. You’ll hurt his feelings however and he will sadly bat his big brown puppy dog eyes at you and yes he will even add a hurt whine. My boy knows how to lay on the guilt trip.

I’m tagging a few people for this if you need help converting meters to feet you can you this online conversion tool.

If you want to see more you can always check out my Opal Tribble - World In My Eyes. My apologies Andy this took a lot longer than I expected.

Ferrets: Indra, Kali, & Hanuman

If it’s a warm day outside you will most likely catch my ferrets aka fuzzbutts out in our front yard planning their great escape.

Here is a picture of my other ferret Ganesh. Yes, I have four ferrets in all. My ferrets have their own virtual home. You can check them out at Ferrets Haven.

Front Yard

When I step out of my front door to my left I see one of my neighbors house. I have friendly neighbors. We chat with each other almost every day. I love that! :-) We rarely go out the front door so let me take you around to the back door, ok?

Back Yard: 6.096 Meters/20 Feet

Back Yard

Well who is this lovely young girl? Why it’s Ms. Aiyana sporting her brand new Dora the Explore lounge wear. This shot was taken around 7:30 a.m. yesterday. In the background you’ll see some of our lovely flowers.

Back Yard: 9.144 Meters/30 Feet

Garden

In this picture you’ll see more flowers and and the beginning of our garden which is enclosed inside a large fence. Why is it in a fence? To keep the deer out. No worries there are plenty of yummy veggies for them on the outside. They feast on them often.

Back Yard: 45.72 meters/150 Feet

Shed

Here you’ll see a shot of our shed. If you look closely you might see one of my stair steppers. I told you I worked out at home.

Front Yard 91.44 Meter/300 Feet

Aiyana throwing rocks

Here’s my champion rock thrower tossing rocks towards our woods. We spend a lot of time out here playing, eating. I even bring my MacBook Pro out here and do my work while I watch my daughter play. Yes, I still have connection this distance from our house.

Back Yard 300 Feet

Here’s another shot of our woods. It’s a little over 3 acres. Our property is 4.5 acres. I hope you enjoyed the 100 meter photoshow.

You live in a beautiful place, Opal! That first picture just so captures the beauty of the fall season. Did I also see a Dora the Explorer doll somewhere?

    Andy Bailey,
Thanks! I really enjoy my garden. Yes, it is good to be around nice neighbors there are about 15 neighbors in our community and we are all friendly. :-)

    WomanIndex,
Thanks! I took the first picture this morning. The others were taken yesterday. In fact I updated this post to include that picture and I agree it definitely capture the season.
Yes you did see Ms. Dora. She was hanging out at the shed while my daughter was riding her Dora cycle yesterday. lol.

Very nice. Your landscape is similar to Wisconsin. Do I see a large bird in the tree in the first one? I love the fog and forest mix. I am tagged and so I better get going on this. :)

You live in a beautiful area and have a beautiful home (and daughter of course! )

But you are still so green, you have the autumn mists. So that’s when I realized I don’t even know what state you are in! It has to be further south than me, I figured that much out!

Oh, these are so beautiful! What a wonderful thing to get to see a little view of your world through your own eyes (lens)! Aiyana is so cute as usual and the little narrative of how we’d be greeted by her and Mr. Bentley was just wonderful. You’ve done it again, Magoo - another heartwarming post! I think your yard and garden are quite close to what I pictured so that is really neat to discover!

    Beth,
It does look like one, doesn’t it? It’s a cluster of leaves. :-)

    pelf,
    I confess I made a booboo.

    Andree,
Yes it is still mainly green in Maryland. The leaves are starting to change, and there are brown leaves that have already fallen to the ground but the trees…still for the most part green. :-)

    teeni,
I’m glad you liked it. :-) I thought about you when I described how my pets would greet someone. I figured you would like that description and it is accurate.

    MacBros,
Yeah it’s a very nice driveway. I love it. I’m not too fond of chasing behind dogs though that run to greet the neighbors!

    Sassy,
I cannot wait to see what you share. I thought you would be perfect. You are always sharing photos from your world.

    Gorilla Trades,
That would be a mongoose although ferrets, if I remember correctly, are in the same family.

    Christopher,
Thanks and no problem I normally don’t get into those things but I felt I should say something on that issue. There was entirely too much misinformation floating around about veganism on that thread.

    Bobby Revell,
Yes they are sweeties. Do you have any pets?

    Harmonia,
I’ll swing by this weekend. I’ll have to log into my “dead” email account so I can retrieve my forgotten password.

    Diane13,
Hey be sure to stop by and let me know when you do. I would love to take a virtual tour.

    Christy,
It sure is although I do have to dodge bird poop occasionally. They like to roost in some of our trees.
