Bloggers To Look Out For: Fabulous Community Leaders

Red Rose

The internet is amazing I’ve met many fabulous people since I’ve been blogging. How long have I been blogging? I started in February 2005 before that time I always kept personal journals in fact I still have journals that I physically write in along with one personal online journal. I started my blog because I wanted to interact with people online. I knew that I had that ability to connect with more people than I ever would in real life.

It’s been a while since I’ve done a weekly roundup of blogs and I truly apologize for that although I have been busy (aren’t we all) it’s something that I believe I still should have done so I’m correcting it by getting back on track. I thought this weeks theme would be about “Community”.

The Importance Of Giving

Nathan Rice wrote an excellent post on WordPress Themes titled Why It Pays To Offer Free WordPress Theme if you think about it this can be applied to more than WordPress themes. It’s important to give back to others and yes that counts online also. Although this article was written a few months ago it’s still relevant. Read through it and see if you can apply some of the principles listed into your own life.

Shall We Dance?

Rolando of R Playground has a beautiful written post titled Blog Dance. I really enjoyed reading his interpretation of commenting. I always enjoy receiving comments from my readers, and I eagerly await stopping by their virtual homes and leaving comments also. I also enjoyed his post Take Your Blogger To Work Day. I really enjoy when bloggers reveal certain aspects of their lives it makes them more “real” to me.

Rolando’s website is friendly and the people that make up his community are friendly. Please stop by and pay him a visit you’ll learn valuable tips on ways to effectively interact with others online.

Reaching Out To Others…

Bobby Revell has written an excellent post titled Helping Humanity Through Blog Marketing . In his post he writes…

If 50, 000 bloggers write posts about feeding starving babies, will it help? The answer is no. It’s not enough. There are many reasons why it won’t do much and I hope this article will help you understand why.

Check out what Bobby has to say about this topic and be sure to stick around like Rolando he’s friendly and is a perfect role model of how we should interact with our readers.  Are you linking to people correctly? If you are unsure please read his post Ethical Theories Of Social Networking. The information he has written is extremely helpful and it give you valuable tips on using effective keyword phrases to link to your blog buddies and other websites.

Where Is My Muse?

I stopped by to check out AntiBarbie yesterday and she had written a post titled The Missing Muse. I definitely can relate to this post since I’ve had this happen to me a few times. While you are there check out her post Short Story - Silent Treatment. I’m not going to write anymore about that post. Read it for yourself. AntiBarbie is extremely talented. I found her through Bobby Revell’s community. I loved her name so I decided to pay her a virtual visit. i’m so happy that I did.

Sunday Fun Day

I met Brown Baron through Bush Mackel. Brown Baron writes about technology on Brown Thoughts. I find his website to be extremely informative and I really appreciate they way he presents his information. It keeps me interested.

Brown Baron has a cool thing going on at his site. Why? Every Sunday he has a Community Day Sunday. You can talk about anything you want on that thread. I like the idea and am thinking of adding something similar to my blog. I commented late this past week and the Fabulous Brown Baron still was kind enough to respond to my comment. I’ll hopefully be on time this week.

The New Face Of Blogging

Andy Bailey has created some excellent plug ins that I believe are effective in social networking. I wrote about it in Something New: Comment Luv Plug In. I know a few of you commented on how you like seeing your posts showing up so spread the love and install them on your website. It’s a great way to give back to your readers.

Not only is Andy Bailey a talented individual he’s also willing to help others if they run into problems with his plug in. I know a few had problems with it an I personally stopped by his website an thanked him for making it work. The people who were affected on my website have their fees showing correctly. Be sure to check out his post It’s Different Out There, Hey! Who Changed Blogging?

A Big Thanks…

What all these websites have in common is they provide valuable tips on how to make my blogging experience better. Rolando, Bobby, AntiBarbie, Brown Baron, and Andy respond to comments left on their blogs. Sure it takes a lot of work to do but they get it done. It makes me feel like they care what I have to say. I really appreciate that.

Since my goal is to have a positive community I naturally want to embrace & recognize others that share the same views as myself. I’m thankful that I’ve I’ve been able to develop fabulous relationships with many bloggers and there are a few that I’ve really connected with simply because they let me. Communities come in all sizes they don’t have to be large in order for them to be meaningful.

Question: How Are You Building A Positive Community?

Thanks to posts like these I’m widening my blogging horizons and relationships by meeting wonderful, talented people. I have already visited some of the people you listed here and you can bet I’ll be visiting the ones I haven’t yet! Thanks for your shout-outs, Opal - even the ones that aren’t about me - LOL. They are ALL beneficial!

    Andy,
Of course, I would mention you. You and the others mentioned are a fabulous asset to the “new face of blogging.”

    Rolando,
Your so modest but it’s all true. :-)

    Brown Baron,
I thought I had mentioned you before but when I searched I could not find any evidence of that.

    teeni,
Yes I had to venture out. I do link lot of people throughout the week, but it’s been a while since I’ve dedicated posts to linking. When I looked back at my recent “shout outs” I realized they all had something in common.

I had mentioned most of them before. You all are great but I need to recognize numerous others that I read which is why I decided I needed to dedicate this post to people that are fabulous I really have not recognized.

One thing you won’t find me doing on my blog is linking to a “big name” blogger hoping they stop by to pay me some attention. Sorry I don’t need it. I see some people doing that often and frequently the blogger does not stop by.

It sort of reminds me of a hilarious caption I saw on one blog. The blogger was talking about linking to “A list bloggers” He included a picture of a beautiful woman. I believe she was sitting in front of a notebook computer.

Anyway he created a cartoon and in the cartoon bubble it said…”Oh someone has linked to me however I’m so fabulous that I don’t need to acknowledge they exist!”"

I busted out laughing although that might not be their intention constantly ignoring someone that links to you might send that message to some of the blogger readers.

Sure we might occasionally miss links sent our way. I know that has happened to me. There have been times when someone linked to me, and I had no idea they had.

I’ll link to someone that is not as popular because in every case I’ve seen they have as much knowledge as the “A List bloggers ” they just don’t have that recognition yet. What some people fail to realize is that having that mindset where you will only link to “A List” bloggers is helping keep them in that position there is room for more people to have a chance in the spotlight because what they say adds value to our blogging community. I’ll do my part in making sure they are recognized.

    teeni,
I thought what Brown Baron did was very sweet. I wasn’t expecting it. I’ll have to recognize a few people. I guess I should create a page a list the awards I got but I didn’t want it to look like “hey look what I’ve received”. I’m definitely not bragging but perhaps it would be nice to recognize those who gave me the awards by linking to them on the awards page.

    Bobby,
You are special and I’m honored that I made your day. :-) You know you had me panicking. I stopped by your place a few times yesterday and your site was nowhere to be found but I saw your comment on Brown Baron’s website so that explains the why behind that, lol.

Hmm, I never looked at it that way but you’re right we all are role models to someone regardless how “big or small” are audience may be. That’s a great incentive, for me, anyway to always do my best. Thanks for the reminder and thanks for the positive vibes. It’s truly appreciated.

I’m sticking with you also you definitely shine and your enthusiasm along with the others mentioned is contagious. :-)

    AntiBarbie,
You’re more than welcome. I’m so happy I found your website. I definitely can understand about kids. I have a daughter and at times I have to put everything on hold because well she comes first. :-)

    Snokesred,
Thanks! That was surprise when I opened Aperture I saw tiny droplets of water on the rose. I didn’t see them when I took the picture.

I hope the plug in works out for you. I’m really loving it and I know my readers have been enjoying it. :-)

    Bobby,
