Comment Luv

Andy Bailey dropped by to let me know that he had updated the plug in. You can read about it on his post titled CommentLuv Gets More Muscle.

According to Andy…

I have visited a few blogs that are using CommentLuv and copied all the URL’s of the users that didn’t have their last blog shown and tried it on the new version running here and it got every single one except for the rare occasion of someone having an extra bit on the end of their feedburner url :-(

Firstly I would like to thank Andy for going to these lengths with his plug in. I know he stopped by my website a few times to assist those whose lasts post weren’t showing up. I truly appreciate that.

MacBros, Calmity, and Beth if yours still isn’t appearing here you might want to take a virtual stroll to Andy’s spot to let him know. I remember they weren’t showing before the update.

I Want To Install Comment Luv On My Blog!

At the end of the post Andy has included a link for the plug in. You must have a WordPress blog to use it.

Thanks Andy!

Thanks for the fabulous plug in and your willingness to assist those who have been facing problems. I truly appreciate it. :-) You can learn a little more about Andy by checking out Andy’ Bailey’s s About Page.

Comment Appreciation: Show Top Commentators & Another Domain Purchase

Posted on October 12th, 2007 in In The News, Linky Love, Personal, WordPress Plug Ins by Vegan Momma

Top Commentators

A few days ago I installed Something New: Comment Luv Plug In I really like the plug in and have been directly clicking on posts left by those who comment here.

Something New

Yesterday I finally got around to installing the Show Top Commentators plug in. It’s something I’ve seen on other blogs and I’ve always thought it was a nice way to recognize those who continually add to your virtual community. If I liked it so much why didn’t I have it on my own website? Hmm, that’s a good question!  Well it’s here now. I installed it last evening. If you look on my right hand side bar you will see this feature. It’s directly under the comment luv icon.

What It Does

As the name states the Word Press Plug In Show Top Commentators shows the people who have commented the most on your website. You have four choices to choose from;

  1. Hourly
  2. Daily
  3. Weekly
  4. Monthly
  5. Yearly

I have mine set to show the top weekly commentors.

Who Created It?

This plug in was created by Nate Sanden. Nate Sanden has a few websites you can find him at Financial Hack if you click on his about page it states…

I am not an A-List blogger and my website would still be considered quite small within its category. In all likelihood, you are a better writer than I am. You definitely know more about computers than I do. And despite all this, I take home a six figure income from the Internet. These are the lessons that I have learned.

Also check out his post How I Built A Six Figure Internet Income it’s a great read. I was intrigued by one of his replies in his comment section. My other websites are an extension of this website. They are based on a niche and it gives me a chance to explore and write about issues I’m truly passionate about. I have one website that I have not touched in weeks and it still receives a high level of feedback. That will be changed from a blog to a website. It’s a great article and I have stumbled it.

What’s New In Vegan Momma World? Another Domain

Another domain has been purchased. I used to have a website called nappy haired diva it was all about natural hair care. I foolishly let that website lapse a little over a year ago and someone snatched up that domain. I had literally hundreds of pages of content thankfully I still have it all just adding it back will take some time. This website will focus on natural hair care and it’s focus is on African Americans although anyone can take tips that will be available on that website. It’s not going to be a blog.

I use a lot of different strategies to effectively market my business, and in time I know this one will do very well. This one will be a “resource library” many of my visitors will be there to learn. I’ll definitely be providing them that opportunity and I’ll link to products and affiliate links when suitable.

A few of my other blogs will be transitioning to websites. I just don’t have the type of time to update them as I think a blog should be updated however, they receive a lot of activity so I’m not going to toss them. On average, I receive a few hundred emails per day. My concern is that if I made this website into a blog it would add even more emails to my pile. I’m thinking about the emails I received when I had it before. I’m trying to cut down on the emails I receive which is why this website will be a resource for natural hair care.
