Eiffel 65: Blue

I’m currently listening to these songs on my iPod.

The first song I love You Baby I heard for the first time on my flight to Stockholm, Sweden. That was in 1997 I believe. I love Sweden. I wouldn’t mind living there.

At times, it feels like yesterday when I was out in the clubs dancing and other times it feels like a long time. Although I don’t go to clubs. I dance at home every single day, several times a day.

A few of my friends are trying to get me to hang with them next month. They want to go clubbing. Where? Vegas. They don’t gamble they just like to have a good time. The last time ws with business. I stayed at the Luxor and went to Club Rah.

I was in VIP if I remember correctly, back then it was almost $200 per person for VIP. I didn’t pay I went with someone else. A great crowd, excellent atmosphere, I had a lot of fun. I’ve been there a few times. I don’t gamble, but it surely is a lot of fun.

Will I go? Although I can afford to go I most likely I won’t it’s to soon, but I’ve been thinking about taking a trip next year. ALONE! I don’t want to gamble but I would like to explore some things I could not do if my daughter was with me. I have to admit that would be very hard. My daughter and I have never been apart for 24 hours.

This winter I do plan on taking my daughter on a few trips. First I want to take her to a log cabin in The Blue Ridge Mountains. It will be a nice place to bond for just the two of us. I love being in the great outdoors. Towards the New Year I want her to experience New York City and I’m planning to stay at The Intercontinental Hotel that has to be my favorite hotel in New York City. They still send me discounts. I haven’t been there in at least four years. I love New York City and I want to show my daughter how lovely it is.

We’ll also be traveling out of the country next year. Initially I had thought we would do it this year but I’m holding off until next year.

Raw Vegan Cuisine

fennel, tomatoes, potatoes

This morning my daughter and I went into the garden and picked a few veggies. Many were left on the vine, ripe ready to be picked. I had thought I would be able to get back into the garden today unfortunately I just didn’t have the time. I’ll be up bright and early to harves the rest of the produce…

Organic Vegetables

fennel, garlic, potatoes, yellow onion, and squash

Everything in the pictures came from our garden. The quick harvesting that we did this morning was enough to score me a raw veggie wrap for a later meal and a nice breakast for my daughter, We dug up three potates, a head of garlic and onions. We picked also stopped by one of the tomato rows and picked about eight ripened tomatoes and one yellow squash.

On our way back to the house we stopped by our herbal garden and picked fennel. We didn’t pick much on this trip but as I said we’ll be back tomorrow morning to harvest everything that is ready to be picked.

Raw Vegetables

Fresh organic vegetables

There won’t be any more collards and kale for a little while. I just planted them a few weeks ago. They usually survive the entire winter. I also include collards, kale, and tomatoes in my hothouse. It’s nothing compared to the warm months, but the joy of having something fresh from my garden year-round is truly satisfying.

Quite a few of my readers have emailed me wanting to know the recipe for my environmentally friendly bug spray. I really don’t measure anything my long term readers will know that this is just how I am, but I promise that I will be attentive to my measurements; eventually, when it comes to making this spray. I only had to make it twice this season; however, it was extremely effective.

The past few years I’ve been wanting to add bees to our land. I just haven’t had the time to do it. They are extremely beneficial for the crops, and they can make the crops produce more produce and sometimes they will make the produce bigger. I’ve always loved bees and read as much as possible about the subject. I became interested in bees and ants when I was six years old and read as much as possible about them. I also would spend hours just watching them. I still do that occasionally.

This gardening season I added flowers and herbs that I know that bees love within the garden and some of the produce is definitely bigger, and I have coaxed more bees to our property.

One of my neighbor’s friends is a beekeeper come next April I will be a proud beekeeper. I won’t harvest their honey. It’s their honey they can keep it for their babies and for our mild winter months. I will set their hives in the woods and entice them to my garden with a variety of yummy flowers and herbs.

My Ferret Relaxing

Albino Ferret - Indra

I told you that my ferret Indra was a “chill baby”. He looks so “human” here.

Whoa I just had a flashback of Al Bundy from Married with Children! All Indra needs is a can of beer in his left paw and his right paw down the front of his pants, Gah!

I did not put that outfit on him. That would be my daughter, Aiyana. I took this picture a few moments ago.

USPS: Order Boxes Free At USPS!

Posted on September 10th, 2007 in In The News by Vegan Momma

In a recent post Ebay And USPS Offer Co-Branded Boxes I wrote about EBay and USPS offering free boxes to those who sell on eBay. The more that I thought about it the more I realized that this service was most likely available for everyone. I did some checking online and sure enough if you have to send a package you can request free materials from USPS. In addition to the Ebay cobranded boxes that I ordered I ordered Free USPS Boxes.

If you need forms they have you covered also you can order Free USPS forms by logging onto USPS. You do have to sign up for an account, but that is free. I’ve had an account with USPS for several years. The last five years I’ve been using recycled boxes or purchasing them. The boxes are Earth Friendly Boxes.

Edited to add:  The USPS is the only mailing and shipping company in the nation to receive Cradle to Cradle Certification at the Silver level from MDBC for humane and environmental health.  Read more…

Barnes & Noble Reading Circle

Posted on September 10th, 2007 in Family, My little Angel by Vegan Momma

Angelina Ballerina Dress Up and Dance

Did you know that some Barnes & Noble’s offers a reading circle for kids? It’s true. Our local Barnes & Noble offers one every Monday and Friday. Yesterday Aiyana was pretty stoked. Why? I told her today we would be going to the reading circle. She enjoys being around other children so she’s very excited that she will be hanging out with the “big kids” later today.

What do I plan to do? I thought about taking along my October issue of Mac|life, but I decided against it. I’ll be hanging out with my daughter today and enjoying whatever book the decide to read. It should be a lot of fun. Afterwards we shall stop an hang out with the ducks and geese. It should be a blast!

Question: What are some of your favorite childhood memories?
