My Small Business Post Office Is Now Stamps.com
I’ve used PitneyBowes Small Business for a little over four years. I started using it because of my business. On average, I shipped out twenty packages per week. I was getting tired of going to the post office to mail my packages. Using PitneyBowes Small Business definitely came in handy.

I’m familiar with Stamps.com
Today I decided to check out Stamps.com one of my friends, also business owner, uses them. In fact she signed up for Stamps.com around the same time I signed up for Pitney Bowes. I received an offer from Stamps.com in the mail today. I’m not sure if it was sent to others besides business owners, but it was addressed to my business? They will give me $45 in free postage. The $45 in free postage isn’t why I accepted the offer. I don’t have anything to lose since I can try it out free for thirty days. If I don’t like it, I can cancel without being charged.
The non profit organization I worked with three years ago used Stamps.com for their mailing needs. I used it a few times. You did have to use special labels to print out the stamps but I liked it a lot better than my mail meter! The monthly fee to use the service is $15.99 but if you do a lot of mailing or you’re looking for convenience it might be worth it.
Why the switch?
I was getting tired of using the postage meters. (Yes I had one at home.) That’s it. Stamps.com lets me print out my postage directly from the computer. I like that. The only thing I’m not liking about Stamps.com is that I cannot use it from my Mac. I have to use Windows? That makes no sense to me but I do have an HP so that isn’t a problem, just an annoyance. Yes I know I can install Windows on my Mac and the programs work flawlessly. I just don’t want Windows OS on my Mac.
Update my scale
Stamps.com is currently offering a great deal on scales. I get a scale that ways up to 50 pounds if I upgrade my 5 pound scale that that toss in for free. That will save me $50. There are times when orders for my beauty products can reach over 50 pounds. Although my prices are reasonable, I do have customers that rack up a lot when it comes to purchasing from me. You’ve got to love loyal customers like that.
I like the convenience of not having to go to the post office to ship out my products. I can do that from the convenience of my own home. My orders for my business have increased over the past few weeks mainly do to the fact that I’ve allowed it. I’ve opened up networking opportunities that I had closed for a few years. It’s starting to get extremely busy again. Eventually I’ll have to hire someone, but finding the right person will be a challenge.
Question: Does anyone use Stamps.com? Over the years I’ve seen them promoting their photo stamps I imagine they did that to make it more appealing to the regular person. I’ve actually thought about using that feature for my business.
