Animals Do The Darnedest Things
Nothing says loving like…
A 3.5 pound ferret landing on your head. Can you believe my ferret Hanuman did that? I was cleaning their home! He ran up to the second level of the MidWest Ferret Nation and purposely leaped on me.
The part of me he leaped on just happened to be my head! Hanuman is the jumper he’s always trying to leap on me. He’s talking to me in the above picture. He does that often.
He also follows behind me, or at least tries to, when I have them outside in their fence. It’s large they have plenty of room to play with each other or chase after me. My daughter and I hang out with them in their pen but when we leave I’ll see Hanuman scampering after me trying valiantly to keep up the only problem there’s a fence in his way. Aarggh!!!
Question: What crazy things have your animals done?

OMG! that’s funny…really…c’mon, you know you wanna laugh, Opal! My “kids” make me laugh everyday! I couldn’t tell you all the odd things they do…
d2 likes to be high up on things like the back of the sofa or recliner…last night she was laying right by my head and was whimpering…not in pain just to get my attention…and it was for at least 10 minutes. Every Time I stopped looking at her or petting her she started up again. It sounds so funny too.
D1 drags his butt on the floor…but a lot of dogs do that. He needs a hair cut so that will be happening soon and he’ll be all good-to-go
D3 was having a conniption because he couldn’t get under the blanket last night…I was laughing at him.
C1 likes to play with ONE of the dogs toys and carries it around the house. It’s actually quite big…while he does that he’s very vocal.
c2, well, she’s just do darned cute…she likes to follow me to the powder room…and jump up on my lap! lol

Ferrets jumping on your head - that is pretty funny. Pets definitely make you laugh.
We have a small 10 lb Manx cat named Me Too. She is called Me Too because she follows me everywhere. Me Too is also a big chatter, and likes to ‘talk’ while she plays with her toys. She also likes to sit on a half wall in the bathroom, and ‘chat’ with my wife Shannon. The have 10 minute conversations with each other.
The odd thing is, Me Too doesn’t meow, she chirps and warbles. When we first got her from the pound, we heard noises that we couldn’t figure out, and then we realized that she was making them.
After we first got Me Too, Shannon was walking up the stairs, and Me Too ran up the stairs behind her. Shannon screamed, and the cat ran off. There was a half wall on the stairs, so we didn’t see the full incident. I asked her why she was screaming at the cat and when I walked around to the stairs, and Shannon was pulling her sweats back up. Apparently as Shannon was walking up the stairs, Me Too ran up behind her, and up her back, and then hung on her sweats. Shannon screamed, as she looked back seeing this cat hanging off her butt, pulling her pants down.
We also have a 22 lb Maine Coon, Mr Pants. Mr Pants is as big as small racoon. His only special talent is being able to snore pretty loud.

One of the wife’s ferrets got under the carpet in our bedroom. Good lord that was something.

Harmonia,
I was laughing at the time. Hanuman is barking mad. Thats his nickname “Barking mad Hanuman”.
Your babies must keep you laughing all the time.
Thomas,
I burst out laughing at that description. I’m sure Mee Too gave her a scare, lol. I don’t know what I would ave thought if that had happened to me.
Bush,
Ferrets can find themselves in the most unusual places. I’m not too surprise about the carpets. They are natural tunnelers.

Barking mad Hanuman, I like it.
I didn’t really see Me Too hang off her sweats and pull them down so I had a hard time wrapping my head around it.
My initial reaction was - Shannon, why are you yelling at Me Too trying to get up the stairs?
It wasn’t until I came around the stairs and saw Shannon pulling her sweats up that I started laughing.
Shannon said she yelled because she looked down and Me Too is hanging off her butt with her ears back, and her sweats started sliding down. To this day we have no idea what Me Too was trying to accomplish.

I love, love, love the pics. We don’t have Ferrets in Australia and I find them fascinating. I’ve never seen a live one.
Thanks for a good laugh everyone.

My cat, Jam, used to love to chase snowballs back when she was an indoor/outdoor cat but now she is just indoor so she catches ping pong balls between her two front paws for fun. She is amazingly quick and agile and will catch them at least 95% of the time without letting them bounce more than once.
My other cat, Toast, is loveable as all get-out but just is not too smart and will probably be the subject of future posts so I won’t divulge too much here.
Oh - I love the name Me Too for a cat. Very creative.

What kind of sound does a ferret make? Are you saying they bark?
on August 10th, 2007 at 4:31 am
The top one looks like he’s saying, “Feed my mouth. Mnaaaaaa!”
They can really get you laughing. I’ll be posting a video later on sometime when I get a chance. I’ll just say it involves a lazer pointer and a cat.

Cool - MacBros! I also use a laser pointer with my cats and it always gives the cats some great exercise as well as provides some great entertainment for hubby and me! I actually have to get new batteries for ours as I write this! I will look for your video.
