Green Thumb Sunday

Gardeners, Plant and Nature lovers can join in every Sunday, visit As the Garden Grows for more information.

Garden

I decided to do something little different this week. I’m including pictures from my garden. Clicking on the pictures will take you to a larger picture. My daughter and I spent a good bit of time working in the garden today. I made one of my natural sprays and sprayed the pole beans. You’re looking at one row. There are two other rows behind this one.

Gourd

Walking past the pole beans, corn, 8′ sunflowers, and my colorful bell peppers I were happy to see my gourds were starting to make an appearance. I use them to make bowls, utensils, calabashes, and bird feeders. It’s a lot of fun, and my daughter loves to participate.

Peach Tree

Peach Tree

Walking deeper into my garden will take you to one of my peach trees. I cannot wait to make raw vegan peach pies, peach smoothies, peach puddings, peach sauces, I could go on, lol.

Flowers

After a few hours of hanging out in our garden we finally headed back to the gate. The entire garden is enclosed in a fence. Why?  It helps keep the deer and groundhogs out. No worries I plant yummy plants on the outside so there is plenty for things for them to have a delightful feast.

I think the garden is a little under an acre. These flowers surely make a statement amidst all the green. I don’t have too many flowers planted in my vegetable and herbal garden. They have their own garden.

I hope you enjoyed visiting our garden. :-)

I love your garden, and the peach blossoms are beautiful. It reminds of the cherry blossom viewings in Japan, which is a very big deal!

Your veggie garden is looking great. I’ve posted a mystery “weed” for Green Thumb Sunday. Stop by and see if you can identify it for me.

What a wonderful garden you have there. Looks like you must get plenty of great, home-grown produce! Yum. I’m jealous!

The gourd photo looks like a painting! Did you work with in in a photo editing program, or did it just come out that way? It is wonderful!

    Harmonia,
    Thanks! I’ll check out yours.

    ruth,
Yes we have a lot of fun with the gourds.

    Mark,
I’m happy you enjoyed your visit. I enjoy making things.

    Snoskred,
Thanks! I saw it I just haven’t had the chance to respond. It’s been a busy week. I’ll be over there tomorrow. Thank you so much.

    HawaiiVacationGifts ,
    I love cherry blossoms.

    Crafty Gardener,
I hope I’m not too later to guess. I’ll be over there shortly.

    Mr.BrownThumb,
Thanks! I love the peach blossoms also. :-)

    teeni,
Yes we receive a lot of fresh produce.

    Aiyana,
This was a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) picture. I shot it with my Nikon D80 in RAW format. That’s as closed to a negative as you can get on a digital camera.

I took at least fifty pictures of this gourd. I upload all my pictures to Aperture 1.5 and I then transferred the ones I liked to Photoshop Elements 4 Mac. I added my signature and that was it. I didn’t tweak it since it needed no tweaking, lol. My daughter’s name is Aiyana.

    Michelle,
    I love the gourd also.

    Sparow,
You’re the first person that commented on the fuzz. :-) That’s what caused me to take the picture. I’m loving the gourd fuzz. :-)

I loved the tour of your garden! I’ve recently started posting pics of my gardening adventures. I grew up on a farm, so gardening for pleasure has been a slow process. These days I’m only doing a few specialty plantings. I’ve started two upside-down tomatoes, and one hanging basket tomato. I’m also testing a small corner of my new-to-me yard to see if it’s good for small space gardening.

Here’s a post filled with pics about the super fresh vegetable soupsuper fresh vegetable soup my mother and daughter and I made a few weeks ago. I used beef in mine, but I’m sure it could be made without it.

I’m going through all the green thumb websites checking to see if people are making GTS posts regularly and unfortunately this post was your most recent one.

I’m sorry , but I’m going to have to remove your site from the blogroll. If you think that you can post at least twice a month (preferably every week) I’ll add you to the list again. Sorry.

    Tricia,
Thanks for stopping by I most likely won’t participate. Although I post about my garden a few times per month I don’t seem to get around to posting for Green Thumb Sunday.
