Heat Wave

Whew! It’s a hot one today. Too hot to be spending time in the kitchen that’s for sure. Aiyana and I just came back in the house. She was hanging out in her swimming pool for a few hours while I was beside her chatting and getting work completed.

Since I’m in the mood for something light I’m thinking of making a nice green salad later today. The produce is really doing well in my garden. I’ve been picking snap beans, greens, lettuce, garlic, green onions, blueberries, mulberries, cucumbers, zucchini etc., for a few weeks.

I love this time of year I don’t have to buy too much produce since my garden is doing so well. The quality and taste of freshly picked vegetables cannot be beat.

Serena Williams

Serena Williams

I don’t watch too much television but if I was available I would always catch the Williams sisters tennis match. I like their physique, which is similar to my own, and I loved how competitive they were. I could relate to that. I’m extremely competitive.

Although most of my friends have known me for some time, it still surprises some that I’m able to incorporate workouts into my daily routine. “You’re so busy Opal!” “How in the wold are you doing it?” When I joined Bally’s Total Fitness about six years ago they had a special section set aside for “women’s fitness” basically there were nautilus equipment, treadmills, and stair climbers.
