Play with me always mommy!

My daughter playing with the water hose

So I didn’t get to play Halo 3 Beta last evening. Is anyone surprised about that? I know I’m not. Lately, the “me things” I want to do (you know the ones that don’t involve work) are getting pushed to the side because I have too much work to do! Gah!!!

Late last evening I explained to Aiyana (anyone picking up on the fact that it was late and she was still awake?) that mommy still works she just works out of the home. Heh! Oh that was effective and made perfect sense in her mind. Pfft! Our conversation ended like this…

Me: You want me to play with you continually, right?
Aiyana: Yes
Me: So that should be my job, huh?
Aiyana: Yes
Me: I guess you’ll have to tell someone to pay me to “work” with you, eh?
Aiyana: (Getting excited) Yes I’m going to say “Hey pay mommy so she can play with me all the time!”

It sounds like a good job to me!

I stayed up until early this morning studying and completing a paper. While I was working, I kept wishing I could play Halo 3 I’m not sure when I’ll get to actually play it, but I’m hoping it’s soon.

It’s another beautiful day in Maryland I plan to stay outside as much as possible today. I’ll try to call it an early evening. Although I don’t feel tired, I know my body needs rest so I’ll pay attention to my body. Now that’s not easy. There have been numerous times when I’ve had every intention of taking it easy, but things like life, a highly energetic daughter, keep stopping me from taking it easy.

The sweet peas are ready to be picked in my garden and so are the asparagus! I was eating the peas straight off the vine yesterday. They were delicious. Aiyana is still sleeping which gives me a chance to get some work out of the way before I know it she’ll be up wanting to play. In her four-year old mind my work should be all her only.

I love how healthy and happy she looks. She is definitely the ray of sunshine unlike the kids eating the SAD.
