Lazy Hazy Memorial Day
Aiyana and I are playing to have a laid back day. Originally, I had planned on making soap today but then I realized that I didn’t have enough oil. Duh! I usually make it nice size batches (about 15 - 25 pounds each time) it lasts for a long time.
It’s true that I sell my soap, but I end up giving much of it away. I love sharing with others. I usually give soap to family/friends. They are at the point now where they request it. Do you know I even include regular size bars, as samples, to my customers? I always do things like that. I scent my homemade soaps with flowers from my garden, herbs, and essential oils. The soap is as natural as you can get.
Ok so obviously we won’t be making soap today. What are we going to do? I think we might do some type of grilling outside. Aiyana loves grilled vegetables. We’ll be taking the ferrets out so they can run around and play in their playpen, and I’m hoping that I can actually get some gaming in this evening.
I’m embarrassed to say that I have not had a chance to play Halo 3 Beta. I downloaded it a few weeks ago. I turned in my hard core gamer card years ago. I just don’t have the time to devote to it as I would like. These days I’ve taken the role of recreational gamer.
It’s nice to see other female gamers out there. I just discovered female-gamer yesterday. I haven’t had a chance to check out the blog as much as I would like. I discovered her from Alexa Redirect however, I’ve linked to her and I’ll definitely be returning.
I know Harmonia of Harmonia’s Cuppa Tea and Beth of Eclectic Studio occasionally play. Check out their websites they are both excellent. Harmonia usually blogs about cooking, scrapbooking, and her love of teas. Beth’s blog is mainly seen through the eyes of her camera. I love the fact that she includes information on about most of her pictures. Her pictures are truly inspirational.
Does anyone else play video games? If so which are your favorites? I’m a huge fan of RPG myself and am anxiously awaiting for the release of Mass Effect!

Aww shucks! Thanks for mentioning my blog. :) Mass Effect sure sounds interesting. We don’t have Xbox though.

Well, when I do play them I only play RPG ones…I like the characters, etc.
On PC I play Sims…but it’s been a while.

Thanks for visiting my site and mentioning it, MzOpal. It’s always great to meet fellow female gamers. :) I love RPGs too! Have you ever played Morrowind (Elder Scrolls)? That’s my absolute favorite one. I love the wide open spaces, it almost feels like an MMORPG. I suppose according to some definitions, I am hardcore, but I consider myself a casual gamer. ;)

Jenny,
My friends son could not believe that mommy actually played video games until I told him I played. ;)
Beth,
Anytime! I have a feeling Mass Effect will eventually be ported to other systems.
Harmonia,
I play Sims in doses at times I like it and other times it drives me nuts. I have a similar relationship with RPG’s,
Hi Trinity!
This afternoon I left a long post on your blog responding to your comments, but it’s not showing perhaps spam gobbled it up I love The Elder Scrolls and Morrowind is my favorite RPG I like it better than Oblivion.

Opal, you amaze me! I feel so lazy every day compared to all of the stuff you do! Making soap, taking photos, running 50 websites, making jewelry, mentoring (I am sure I am forgeting something), whew! Now you still have time for video games? Do you ever sleep? (actually, I’ve seen the times of some of your posts and comments, so I think not).

Ugly Naked Guy,
Yes I stay pretty busy. I’ll go nuts if I don’t. That’s not necessarily good occasionally I truly need to take time for me being involved in so many things gives me a reason not to do that, and I realize that.
Most of my “fun posts” are done at night after my daughter has gone to sleep. I work at home during the day, and I take numerous breaks so I can spend time with her. It’s a good thing I don’t require much sleep but in many ways she was telling me she needed more of my time so that was another kick in the tale to start working for myself. I had to listen to what she was saying.
I try to do more. I’m a single parent and although I definitely have fabulous parents she craves being around her mom. I try to compensate for being a single parent by tossing in extra time.
I don’t get too much sleep perhaps three - five hours nightly.
Interestingly enough Rev. Falwell was the same way it explains why he accomplished so much and was one of the main ways I connected with him. We had that in common along with the passion to help others. I’ll miss him.
I admire what you do. After my mentoring session I was thinking about you and teachers that genuinely care about their students it’s not easy, and I truly appreciate what you do. Serving as a mentor has given me a tiny glimpse of what you must face.
I only do this once a week for you this is five times a week. Thank you for all that you do. I appreciate it.

Thanks, but it is a job for me and whatever my job is, I try to do the best job possible. You, however, are volunteering, which I think is more commmendable–but I’ll stop fending off your compliments. I really wish I felt good about 3-5 hours of sleep a night. I could do so many more things. It’s a mental thing for me, but I like to have at least 7.

Mass Effect is definitely a blast. I agree with you, Vegan Momma, that RPGs are among the most enjoyable games to play. I wish I had more time to play them…I just barely got enough time to play Mass Effect, and its been out for awhile now. :(
