Alexa Redirect ~ Linky Love
Alrighty folks! It’s time for some link loving. Jenny from Jenny Up The Hill has tagged me so I’m sharing the love with a few of my blogging pals.
Yes I know Alexa isn’t accurate, but there are still advertisers who look at this besides it’s a great way to meet new bloggers. I decided to focus on some of my new blog readers. Thanks for stopping by my blog. It truly is appreciated.
Don’t forget to check out my old Alexa train your name might be on that list. If so kindly share the love and go meet some of your virtual neighbors. It’s a lot of fun!
*Update: I just finished clicking on every single person on this list. I made a comment on a few and will be back to visit others when I have more time. There is a nice selection of good blogs, and I always enjoy meeting new bloggers.

Move all the sites labeled “Newcomers†to the list labeled “Oldies.â€

Just by installing the Alexa toolbar on your own pc you will raise your rankings (after all, you do visit your own site, right?) I’m not sure why people still use it…mainly because no one else offers anything better I guess. By using the redirects for Alexa, you are selling yourself short on gaining Pagerank through a spiderable link. Just some food for thought.

I don’t use the Alexa toolbar. I’m on a Mac. The Alexa toolbar is only available for Internet Explorer even if it were available I wouldn’t use it anyway. I don’t Alexa tracking me that closely. I only use the redirects for the alexa linky train. When I’m visiting others I use my real url.
I’m not convinced that the redirect does as much as some claim.
The more I read about Alexa the more I wonder why some advertisers insist on it. I just don’t get it?

A better option is to make the Alexa redirecting JavaScript-powered: in this way
the HTML will not be modified, and the redirects will still work. I’ve applied
this technique to a new plugin called Better “Alexa Redirect” WordPress
