Alrighty now…

I’m slowing down with the behind the scene maintenance with my sites. I still have things that I want to complete but it’s not like before.

Good News

Vegan Momma ~ Advertising
I received my first big offer (big for me) a few days ago. This was a direct offer so no middleman involved. Sweet! I also received a very nice offer from a website I use. I’m slightly surprised since my PR went from a 5 to a 4 but I’ve heard a few top bloggers say the PR/ranking isn’t the only thing that should be considered.

The Raw & The Cooked
Good News! The Raw & The Cooked has received quite a few trackbacks from various posts I’ve written. For the most part, I’ve been posting smoothie recipes and yes I did that deliberately.

Why? Over the years I’ve found that some people are more receptive to drinking something healthier than eating something healthier. Drinking something delicious can make (some) people think about what they are actually eating. Imagine that?

You know at times people are their own worst enemy. Why? They think they will be sacrificing so much if they make changes in their eatings habits. You might eat differently but that does not mean the food is going to taste bad. I never sacrifice taste. I derive the same amount of pleasure as I did before and more importantly the food I eat is actually good for me.

I purposely don’t use Vegan in my title at The Raw & The Cooked or The Raw Review. I’ve found that some people will quickly close their minds to that because they think it’s too different or she cannot possibly make something I’m interested in. They place an inaccurate label on a type of cuisine before they have even tried it out.
It’s nothing new under the sun. You’ll have people that blindly place inaccurate labels on a person or group regardless of what affiliation they fall under. How ridiculous is that, eh?

At The Raw & The Cooked I’ve already received numerous emails from those who are looking for healthier approaches when it comes to getting their eating lifestyle. Of course, that makes me happy. I truly enjoy educating others by getting them to view their food choices in a different light. What we choose to put into our bodies can play a major role in how our body chooses to operate.

I’m not trying to Veganize anyone I just want people to start thinking about what they choose to eat. You can be healthy without being vegetarian. You can be a very unhealthy vegetarian. It has to do with the choices you make. What you eat can have an affect on your overall well being. It’s time that we wake up to that fact.

Alexa Ranking
The Raw Review
It’s currently at 1,115,141. I find that fascinating. I haven’t done too much with that website. I have added about seven posts. The one’s I’ve been promoting the most are Vegan Momma. I’ve done moderate promotion with The Raw & The Cooked.

Vegan Momma
My Alexa has gone down with this site it’s 262,762.

The Raw & The Cooked
I’m now at 1,146,530. When I started this website almost two weeks ago it wasn’t even ranking.

What I’ve noticed
Blogs that stagger paid posts one right after another don’t seem to get too much traffic only seem to go so far (or down) with their ranking. Also, I’m finding they don’t get as many comments.

It seems like common sense to me. I always separate my paid advertisements with at least one regular post. I have heard some bloggers speculate that having too many of the paid advertisements can effect your PR. I have no idea if this is true or not. I don’t want to take away from my regular website. I do want to enhance it by tossing those in their since it can pay for my hosting.

In Closing
More importantly than PR or Alexa rank is the content that I put on these websites and of course reaching out to those who have chosen to leave a comment or send me an email. The websites I’m looking at will be looking for those qualities and wouldn’t even give my site a second glance if I put up some slapped together mess. I wouldn’t do that anyway.

At this point I’m not sure if I’ll do sponsored reviews for The Raw & The Cooked or The Raw Review. Instead, I’m thinking I might focus on writing articles about nutrition & health and submitting them to various publications for pay.

Question: If you are (or were) writing paid reviews for your website what would you do to enhance its quality?

Congrats on the new advertising. I still haven’t delved much into paid posts so I don’t have any real advice but please let us know more as you figure it all out.
