Baltimore Green Week ~ Ecofestival
My daughter is going to have an action packed Saturday! When I opened my email this morning I received reminder about this event from my local Vegan meetup. Good thing I got the reminder because I didn’t know anything about it.
Take a peek at some of the events offered this year…
Events during EcoFestival include –
• “Black+White=Green†@ 2pm – Be part of the group photo that will dramatically illustrate the need for all people of Baltimore to work together for a cleaner environment.
• Music – Come listen to great bands from Baltimore including:
- Lawnchair 12:30 – 1:45
- Smooth Kentucky 2:45 – 3:45
- For the People 4:00 – close• Toxic Tours – Ride the bus to some of the most toxic sites in East Baltimore to see what we need to work on together. Hour long tour leaves the EcoFestival @ 12:45 and 3:15.
• Wellness Pavilion – Learn new techniques for greater health and wellness from alternative health practitioners (yoga, qigong and others). Demonstrations and classes throughout the day. Also, stop by to see the Aquarium’s children show.
• Eco-Art Mart – Walk through displays of sustainable art forms made from reclaimed material and other earth friendly techniques. And if you like the art – buy it! Most of the artwork will be for sale directly by the artist.
• Other Workshops– Make a rainbarrel at Herring Run Watershed Association’s booth, hear about sustainable food at Chipotle’s food stand, and take a pre-Ecofestival hike with the Sierra Club.
And many other informational presentations, “green†goods to purchase and local food to buy throughout the festival.
A conclusion I realized long ago was…
Instead of focusing on why a particular person is wrong when it comes to a certain issue (or issues) regarding the environment I need to focus on ways I can make changes. I came It’s true I definitely have issues with some of the spokespersons that are in the spotlight with this movement but I’m not going to let it stop me from making the appropriate changes that I believe are necessary more on that in a later post.

This should be a wonderful start to the festival season in Baltimore, I use to love the enthic festivals and the green one highlighting diversity is a keen idea.

JD,
I agree! It’s a shame I didn’t make it. I was too wiped out. However I believe there are events going on throughout the week in Baltimore so I’ll be sure to make an event.
