Easy Dinner

Posted on May 2nd, 2007 in My little Angel, Personal by Vegan Momma

I’m thinking of making an easy dinner. Scratch that! I will make a simple dinner. I haven’t decided what I want to make right now but it’s going to be VERY EASY. I’ve been craving raw samosas for a while. I believe I’ll make them this weekend. I was planning on taking our ferrets out earlier but I think it’s too hot for them at the moment. I’m going to wait for it to cool down.

Remember the baby watermelon that I bout yesterday? Well it’s gone! It was incredibly sweet. Aiyana and I had a great time eating it. I should have bought more. It’s still too early for our watermelons. I think we had around 24 large wateremelons last year. I gave a lot away.

Aiyana and I are getting ready to head out to the store. I’m picking up a few camping supplies for my little munchkin. She’s so excited! I cannot find my old sleeping bag so I’ll have to purhase another one.

I’m thinking about planting some watermelons. We’ve got a really hot and sunny spot in the yard, an I think they’d thrive there. I love to squoosh watermelon in the blender and freeze it into fruitsicles :)

    Have fun camping!

I haven’t seen hide nor hair of the watermelon I planted. Same with my canteloupe. Guess they went the way of the spinach. It never came up either. :-(

    Liesl,
They are excellent as fruitsicles. I also blend it for watermelon juice. Good Stuff!

    DragonLady,
Aww that’s too bad! I wonder what happened?

    kat,
They taste divine. They are savory pastries usually filled with potatoes, peas, spices, and/or meat. I know they are common in India and parts of Africa and Afghanistan is I remember correctly.

I understand your love for watermelon. I swear I am addicted to it. I go after it almost every single day. It is like a full day’s meal for me. That is probably unhealthy in some way.

    Cade,
You know I only crave it certain times of the year. Hmm perhaps unhealthy in that you are not getting all the nutrients solely from watermelon but it is a very healthful food. I think I’ll post the benefits later today. It contains a high amount of lycopene. There have been numerous studies done on lycopene. Why? It’s an antioxidant and it aids in cancer prevention. Of course watermelon has many other benefits but I’ll save that for it’s own post.
