Wide Awake ~ 04/27/07

Posted on April 27th, 2007 in Family, My little Angel by Vegan Momma

I’m going to try to get some rest soon. I left my cellular phone in the other room (for some reason I have a feeling someone will try to call me tonight. I just want to take it easy, hang with Aiyana and finally go to sleep.

Tomorrow is a full day. In the afternoon I’ll be meeting with my mentees for about four hours. we are meeting at a local library. The topic is called Mean Girls. We’ll be talking about effective ways to resolve conflict. I’m looking forward to this session.

Well it’s time to hang with Aiyana, my favorite little girl!

IDrive-E ~ Free Online Storage

Posted on April 27th, 2007 in Technology by Vegan Momma

This is a sponsored review.

About five years ago, before I started using my own hosting provider, I used online backup sites to safely store my image files. I used a combination of paid and free services. There are a variety of sites out there one such website offers free online backup. You can use it to store your MP3s, photos, videos, emails and financial documents. IDrive-E offers 2GB of free remote backup space. You can post images onto your websites without worrying about bandwidth being exceeded since there are no bandwidth restrictions.

There are many features included with your free service such as;

  • Enhanced security with 128-bit SSL encryption
  • Enhanced data security with user defined encryption key. This key is not stored anywhere on the IDrive-E Servers

Mr. Bentley

Quit taking pictures!   Get these things outta my hair!

Yesterday Aiyana, my daughter, decided that Mr. Bentley needed barrettes in his hair. I snapped this shot while I was making eggrolls.  I took them out after I took the picture.  I’m sorry Mr. B!  You looked so cute! :-)

Verizon DSL ~ Tech Support

Posted on April 27th, 2007 in Apple, Personal, Technology by Vegan Momma

I called Apple’s tech support this morning. I just was not put at ease when I spoke to Verizon’s tech support yesterday. There were things I knew was wrong with what Verizon support was telling me however the support guy kept telling me differently. Apple’s tech guy (cannot remember his name although I wrote it down) was extremely knowledgeable and was able to assist me in reconfiguring my settings for my modem and router.
