Feather

Aiyana holding a turkey vulture feather

Six of the turkey vultures came back this morning and one of them left a present. A feather! Aiyana was so happy and amazed at how large the feather was. Later we saw two of them gliding high in the sky? Aiyana wondered if Mr. Vulture was hunting for his lost feather.

Spring Rolls

Spring Rolls

I had a chance to make the spring rolls this evening. Surprisingly my daughter went to sleep for about an hour. Of course I took an advantage and made the spring rolls. I usually add a large variety of veggies like cabbage, broccoli, & red bell pepper. However I only had cauliflower. I had collards on hand but I did not want to add them to my spring rolls. Along with the cauliflower I decided to add shredded carrots, yellow onion, freshly ground black pepper, freshly picked green walking onions, & a tiny bit of namo

Spring Roll Skin

Spring Rolls Skin

For the past few days my daughter has been asking demanding that I make Spring Rolls. I believe I’ll make them today. I’m not sure what I’ll add to them it’ll come to me once I’m in the kitchen. I’ll make a cooked version and a mostly raw version. I believe spring rolls are cooked so it won’t be a completely raw dish. I’m thinking of making some type of mango sauce to accompany this dish. What brand do I use? The brand pictured above. Spring Rolls Skin ~ Banh Trang.

Occasionally a few acquaintances, once finding out I’m Vegan, automatically assume the food I eat is boring. You must be some type of martyr

Another smoothie recipe

Posted on April 22nd, 2007 in Juicing/Smoothie Recipes by Vegan Momma

Let’s just say the first smoothie of the day didn’t last long. :-) I had two cups my daughter drank the rest. I made a different version this time. It has pineapples, apple, ginger, grapes, and leafy green lettuce. Guess what I actually measured the ingredients this time usually I guess. If you’ve followed my blog for any length of time you’ll know I don’t follow recipes. I constantly make what I want. I add what I think a dish needs. I rarely measure. I include a lot of my dishes on my blog so I’m trying to get into the habit of measuring. I’ll post a picture of the smoothie later today. I think I’ll use the lightbox. Ok, on to the recipe!

Yesterday I searched the internet for anything relating to do it yourself lightboxes. I’ve added new products to my product line and I’ve wanted to take pictures of them. I prefer a white background. The three links I’ve listed below were the one’s I’ve found most useful. I don’t want to make my lightbox out of cardboard or foamboard. I’ll use the clear rubbermaid container. I happen to have one of those laying around. Last year I had purchased it for mushrooms I was growing.

Eventually I’ll make another lightbox out of fabric. I have an idea on how to make it sturdy. If I use cloth it can be collapsible and very portable. I like the CPVC Pipe idea by Eclectic Cafe I can see myself using that for a very large project.

2. Rubbermaid lightbox ~ Switchboards
3. Foamboard lightbox ~ JYO
