Meet The Robinson's

Meet The Robinson’s

Aiyana wants to sleep in my room this evening. It looks like that will be a reality since I’m so exhausted. We had a fabulous playdate with K and her two children. We were together about six hours total. Do you want to guess who’s tired? ;-) Well, it’s not my daughter. Aiyana and I went to their house early this afternoon. They have a playground for the children. I hung out with the children as K got ready. We went to see the Disney movie, Meet the Robinsons, at Marley’s station. I really enjoyed it. It had a positive message that many can apply to their lives not just children.

Butterfly on a flower

I took these shots last spring. The past few days I’ve looking for insects. Why? I’ve want to take their pictures. Why just yesterday I had a excellent opportunity. There was a bumble bee hard at work amongst the wild African violets that grow in my back yard of course I left my camera in the house. His legs were heavenly laden with pollen. He worked every inch of those blossoms before buzzing off. I was so captivated by him that I forgot to dash into the house to snatch my camera bag and by the time I remembered and did just that he had flown away! Dooh!

Dandelions

Dandelion

Dandelion

When I first started playing the piano at the age of eight one of the pieces I had to play was about a Dandy Lion. I still remember the words.

Long ago there lived a Dandy Lion
He was kind and gentle all day long
He would pick a bunch of dandelions
Then he’d walk around and sing a song

I haven’t thought of that song in years!

I cut the lawn today. It’s about an acre. I forgot to harvest the dandelions before I cut the grass but there are plenty growing near my flowers. I’ll use some of those for tomorrows meal. Yes, you can eat dandelion greens. Surprised? :-)
