Jade ~ Game (Beyond Good & Evil)

Jade (lead character) ~ Beyond Good & Evil

I recently joined a women’s gaming forum as I searched the avatars to add to my screen name it occurred to me that I haven’t seen too many “black women” landing lead roles in games. Hmm…I did a quick search and stumbled upon this website that talked about the same thing. For the record I don’t think Jade is “black”. She honestly doesn’t look that way to me. But what do I know? ;-)

Sugarloaf Mountain! Whee!!!!

Earlier this week I was chatting (via email) with the founder of the mentoring organization I volunteer with. We started talking about the lack of physical activity being offered in some of the schools today. I thought about Sugarloaf Mountain and mentioned it to her. I also provided her a link. She really excited about it and thought this might be an idea for a activity this summer for all the mentees & mentors. How cool is that?

In other news I’m thinking of hosting a gaming party for my girls (mentees.) They all play games and I think it would another fun way we can spending bonding. I do have a feeling they are going to gang up on me (in game) and kick my butt! ;-)

Windows, Macs co-exist

Posted on March 9th, 2007 in Apple, Technology by Vegan Momma

I’ve been tempted to run parallels on my Mac. I needed Windows for a project I’m working on for a client but I decided against it and purchased a resonably priced (refurbished) notebook.

Two days ago I found out that an application (another project I’m working on) will be available for Mac next week! Sweet! I’m so exicted. :-)

Anyway I’ve included the article/link below.

Windows, Macs co-exist

Reluctant to switch to a Macintosh because so much of your favorite software requires Microsoft Windows? Now you don’t have to hold back.

Apple’s free Boot Camp beta software can also make your Intel-based Mac a screaming-fast Windows machine. But when you turn your computer on, you must choose to work in either Windows or Mac’s OS X Tiger.<more>
