Craft Overload

She’s crafty She gets around
She’s crafty she’s always down…

This morning I took my daughter to Michael’s Supplies and Crafts . We had a blast! An hour later and $80+ down we walked out of the store with enough supplies to last until the next hmmm (can’t think of anything funny right now.)

Entering the house I hear…

Can I work on crafts? Huh? Huh? Huh? No, not right now dear in a few hours ok? I kept my promise in a few hours we worked on crafts. She’s made pom pom teddy bears, Houses (abstract art), portraits of mommy. I never knew I looked like that. She is now taking a nap. I’m tempted to go downstairs but I know if I do she’ll awaken.

Ok where have I been? I never heard of the group Bronski Beat (although this song sounds familiar) until I happened upon it on New Years Eve. How did I find it? I was looking for Milli Vanilli on YouTube and somehow stumbled on this video. My heart went out to the guy in the video. I’ve met many boys and men that could be this guy in the video. It instantly made me think of Matthew Shephard.

Hair Story

Yesterday I ordered, from Abebooks, Black Hair: Untangling The Roots Of Black Hair In America. I’ve heard about it on a few natural hair care forums and kept meaning to pick it up. I’ve even recommended it to friends and acquaintances based on the parts I’ve read from the book. I love the picture on the book. As a “black woman” who wears her hair natural (chemical free) I was pleased see a natural hair appearing on the cover.
