 At my last job we received an incentive to participate in online trading. The company stock was offered at $6 (to its employees, I bought 150 shares for $900.) you had to set up an account with Etrade. I believe the stock was available to the general public for $16. When I left the company their stock was worth $54. My total stock, with my company, was worth $8100. Not bad! I sold some of the shares to pay off my car and reinvested some in “safe stock†and the rest. The rest I put into a money market account.
