The Rain
Robert Louis Stevenson 1850–1894
A Child’s Garden of Verses and Underwoods
Rain
THE RAIN is raining all around
It falls on field and tree,
It rains on the umbrellas here,
And on the ships at sea.
I love poetry! This was one of my favorite poems as a child. I was awarded A Child’s Garden ofVerses for winning the annual spelling bee contest. You know I have been thinking of this poem for the past several days. Why? We have been receiving a lot of rain here in Maryland. I cannot complain my garden loves it. It’s so green!
