Raw Coconut Cream

Cracking the coconut
Using your hammer & nail make a small hole at the top of the coconut.
Using a glass or bowl drain the coconut water out of the coconut by placing the coconut upside on top of glass (or hold it over a bowl.)
The coconut water will look cloudy.
Save the coconut water! It is sweet, delicious and nutritious. If the coocnut water is taste bad throw away the coconut. It’s not good.
Place the coconut in a bag
Using the hammer, break the coconut into small pieces.
Make sure to separate the white coconut meat from the hard brown coconut shell.
If you would like a pictoral walkthough go to How to open a coconut. I found this site a few minutes ago.
Recipe
Run the white coconut meat pieces through a juicer, using the “juice” plate with the tiny holes.
The juicer will separate the coconut into shredded coconut and coconut cream.
Use the coconut cream immediately. What you don’t use can be frozen. Don’t toss the shredded coconut this can be used in recipes or eaten plain.

You are so resourceful, I admire that. Don’t think Id have the patience to go through all these steps but Im sure the results are better (and better for you) than canned. Geraldine

@Geraldine,
It does not take long perhaps 15-20 minutes. I spent far longer on elaborate dishes.
@Jon,
I’ll post pictures later today!

Dear Kathryn,
I tried to get to your website but received “under construction”. Do you sell raw coconut cream to be shipped? If so, how much does it cost and how much would shipping be? If not, can you suggest where i can find it for purchase?
Thanks so much
