Portobello Burger update

Posted on June 9th, 2006 in Raw Foods Diva by Vegan Momma

Ok this was unbelievably delicious! I dehydrated the portobello mushrooms overnight at 105 F. A few minutes ago I ate my yum-a-licious raw burger. It was delicious and I savored each bite. Of course I chewed thoroughly. ;-)
Aiyana enjoyed nibbling on a marinated mushroom cap. She declared it “yummy”. Although this was heavenly, it was not as flavorful as freshly harvested mushrooms. Have you ever had freshly harvested mushrooms? If you haven’t let me tell you they are very good! Oh the flavor that they have. MMM. yummy! I’m going to order additional mushroom spawn in a few weeks so I can harvest my own mushrooms.

I took a few pictures before I ate my Raw Portobello Burger. I will post the pictures when I get home this evening. This is a definite keeper! I’ll definitely make these again.

Portabello Mushrooms

Portabello Mushrooms

Marinated Portabello Mushrooms

Yesterday I marinated three portobello mushroom caps in the Agave Ginger dressing. After a few hours I drained and placed in my Excalibur dehydrator. I will have “mushroom burgers” for one of my meals at work tomorrow. The mushroom caps will serve, as the “bread”. I will fill the bun with leafy greens, onions, and tomatoes. Yesterday I bought avocados. I might slice one of those and add that to the “burger”. It all depends on what I’m in the mood for. I cannot wait for my tomatoes to ripen in the garden.

Changes…

I keep forgetting to mention this…
A few weeks ago I talked with a Naturopathic Doctor/advisor about their Herbology program. I really like her the more we chatted the more I realized I would not be happy receiving a certification in herbology. I have always known I wanted more.

My Vita Mix arrived

All I can say is Wow! This blows my much-loved blender out the water. This ebay seller took excellent care of the blender! :-) The Vita Mix 3600 Plus makes smoothies, nut butters, breads, sausages, heats foods, ice cream (It shares some of the same features as my Green Star Juicer (besides juicing my Green Star also makes nut butters, ice creams, pasta, breads, etc.,)

I love my green foods

Green Salad

Green salad w/agave ginger dressing

Lately I’ve been eating a lot more green vegetables. I’m eating them at each meal. I picked my usual green foods (kale, collards, fennel, string beans, fennel, and green onions.) I added one large zucchini that I had bought from a local farm last week. I chopped everything up into a bowl. It looked delicious. I took a picture of my food at work.
