Vita Mix 3600 Plus

Vita Mix 3600 Plus

Yesterday I won a VitaMix 3600 Plus for $151. I bidded for it on Ebay. The tamper and orginal booklet are included. I had been thinking of purchasing one for quite a while but I held off jsut because I had the money to spend on it I did not want to purchase it until I could justify it. I’m very frugal and love to save & invest my money. My current blender, which I love dearly, has been showing signs of not being able to blend some of the harder vegetables that I try to homogenize (the motor starts whining) so I felt it was time to be replaced. I’ll still use it for when I’m away fro the house for a few days.

I preferred the VitaMix 3600 Plus over the newer models not only because of the stainless steel look (which I love) but I have heard so many glowing reviews from owners of this model. Quite a few have purchased the later models (store owners) but they prefer this one.

A few days ago I had started bidding on another 3600 it went out of my price range. I bid on another that endedyesterday and once again out of my price range. The one I won I decided to up my final offer to $220. Guess what? I won the bid at a cheaper price, $151, cheaper than the other two ! The shipping is cheap since the bidder lives in the next state, Pennsylvania. Not bad eh?

If it ever gives me any trouble I can always go ask my father to check it out. He retired as an electrical engineer over the years I have had him check out a few appliances before I went out and spent money. In many cases it was something simple that cost under $5 to replace. It works out whenever something is wrong with his computer he gives me a call. I’ve even upgraded his computer a few times.

I have always appreciated my dads open-minded attiude about my eating lifestyle. I told him a few weeks ago that I had made the decision to go completely raw. His comment, “Yes I have heard a lot of good things about people who’ve made that transition to raw foods!” he does not question me about “nutritional value” I’m his daughter after all. He knows I don’t do anything without researching every single aspect thoroughly. My dad is a health nut himself and works out daily over the years he has expanded his knowledge and uses alternative therapy for minor ailments. He often asks me questions about various herbs and what actions they have on the body.

    I have been pondering one of these for the same reason…I have to add at least a cup of water to some hummus attempts because my current one wouldn’t blend as well

    That’s a great price! I have a new Vita-Mix and I just love it. I have never, once regretted spending the money for it.

    Your father sounds like a great man.

    (I’ve been lurking on your blog for several months.. thought I’d say hello..)

    @Melody!
    Welcome and it’s nice to hear from another Vita-Mix user. I hear so many good things about this product.

    My father is truly wonderful. :-) I have no idea what I’m going to do for father’s day anything I do won’t be good enough.

    I purchased a Vita Mix on Ebay for 181.00 which includes shipping, I drink protein drinks and when I add frozen fruit or ice it doesn’t puree it to my liking, I hope that the 3600 will do the job for me. I have heard only good things about it. I own a Kitchenaid blender and it doesn’t work as well as I thought it would Marti

    Hi! Does the 3600 model completely puree all the fruit/veggies?

    @Sherri - I love my Vita-Mix 3600. And to answer your question, yes it will puree fruits and vegetables. The only thing to member is that you sometimes have to add a little bit of liquid to get things going, other wise it just spins if it’s like a dryer vegetable like a carets. And I really love the stainless steel look.

    I would really like to know though if the 3600 can make things hot… I know the newer model can because the blade is spinning so fast that it creates friction, and heats things up. I just have not really tested that out yet on my Vita-Mix. Thanks!

    AND AWESOME JOB ON GOING RAW!!! I hope it is working out beautifully. Now all I need to do is quit smoking, and go raw. But I think that could take some time for me.
