My dear friends, today is the seventeenth of July, 1998. We are in the New Hamlet, and the talk will be in French.

Happiness is something collective. Happiness cannot be individual. That is something I have learned in Buddhism. In a relationship, for example in the relationship between father and son, or mother and daughter, we will see that if the son is not happy, then it will be impossible for the father to be happy. The same is true of a mother and son, or mother and daughter. If the child is not happy, the mother will not be really happy. Therefore, for the other to be happy, it is necessary that you yourself are happy. And for you to be happy, you need to make the other happy. If father suffers very much, it is impossible for the child to enjoy life, to be happy. Therefore we have to do everything we can to help father suffer less. That will make you happy—it’s for your own well being.

The Great Compassion

I’m sending one pineapple/strawberry smoothie to Gary of Animal Writing’s for blogging about The Great Compassion: Buddhism and Animal Rights. He has peaked my curiosity so I will be purchasing it. I’m Buddhist. I googled and found that he has written a book titled

The Dominion of Love: Animal Rights According to the Bible

The Dominion of Love: Animal Rights According to the Bible. I discovered that Norm Phelps lives in my state, Maryland. If you want to learn more about Norm Phelps you can read an interview with him at this link conducted at Veggie Dharma.

Can Cholerella and Cilantro help elimate Mercury from the body?

Posted on May 12th, 2006 in Personal by Vegan Momma

cilantro

Cilantro

Did you know Chlorella & Cilantro have been used to effectively rid mercury (remember mercury fillings) from the body.

Chlorella
High doses of chlorella have been found to be very effective by German researchers for mercury elimination.(13)

Chlorella is an important part of a good systemic mercury elimination program, because approximately 90% of the mercury is eliminated through the stool. Using large doses of chlorella - chlorella is actually a food - helps fecal mercury excretion. Once the intestinal mercury burden is lowered, mercury will more readily migrate into the intestine from other body tissues from where chlorella will effectively remove it.

Sistah Vegan Project

Sistah Vegan baby tee-shirt

Yesterday I received my Sistah Vegan baby tee shirt in the mail. You can read more about the Sistah Vegan Project at this link. I’m wearing this tee-shirt to work today. Friday is casual day. I paired it with tan pants and a duster jacket in the same color. I have my hair in double strand twists. I added one jeweled butterfly clip on each side. It’s really cute. I like the subtle message. Yes it is a black female. Yes she is vegan. Wake up we are out there!

I was really pleased when Amie started selling them on Cafe Press as a black vegan female it is nice to see a “colorful & natural vegan sistah” represented on a tee-shirt. (That’s another thing to those ladies who have naturally super coily, kinky, nappy hair. Please stop putting those chemicals in your hair to make it straight! Your natural kinky, coily, nappy hair is beautiful it doesn’t need to be FIXED! I don’t even want to get into the possible damages you are doing slathering those caustic chemicals on your head. )

There are times I grow tired of the media’s portrayal of Vegetarians. No! We are not all white! Yes there are many other Vegan Minorities. Wake up! I also become frustrated, at times, with some people within my race. Occasionally I’m discriminated based on my food choices. I have attended a few events (family & work related) when I have been asked, “What are you bringing?” You know what this question is not asked to non-vegans. It’s amazing how some people feel the need to “check” to make sure my dish is “suitable” because you know Vegans chomp on tofu and wood bark. Our food is tasteless and BORING! Of course this isn’t true. :-) It does annoy me that some people feel that they should check my dishes.
