Sacred Woman: A Guide to Healing the Feminine Body

Occasionally I will read a book that has left such an impact on me that I will purchase another and give to someone I think will really benefit from the experience. This is the case with Sacred Woman. I received my first copy, from Amazon, last Saturday. I ordered a hard cover copy a few minutes ago.

It was easy to become lost in Queen Afua’s writings. In some ways we have taken similar paths. She uses alternative treatments in healing. It’s obvious that she focuses on the whole person instead of one partictular body part when it comes to healing. Guess what she’s also Vegan and also eats a high amount of raw foods. She discusess the negastive aspects of unhealthy eating on or physical and spiritual well-being. As I read the book I feel as if I’m chatting with a long lost friend.

    Is the Ankh on the cover just for show, or does she incorporate Ancient Egyptian religion into her spirituality?

    @ Hanuman
    Queen Afua follows the Khamitic religion and is a Chief Khamitic Priestess. The Ankh is definitely not for show. :-)

    @Geraldine,
    It is informative! I’m digesting tiny bites each day. I love the cover and am in love with her nubian loc’s most days I wear my hair in a gele aka headwrap although sometimes I wear partial headwraps and “rock my afro”! :-)

    @Harmonia,
    The graphics attracted me also, what a talented artist, eh? I have not read any of those books but I have read some by Joanne Stepaniak!
