Beet Juice. I love the color!

Did you know that beet juice can prevent cancer and heart disease? It detoxes the liver and also aids in cleansing the blood. How does it work with cancer? It aids in purifying the bloodstream so that the blood can do its work by detoifying the body and transporting nutrients to starving cells. I’m currently sipping on beet juice. How did I make it. Well, I got a “big ole beet”, two daikon, two cloves of garlic, and two habenero pepper. I juiced the vegetables and added flas seeds to the drink. It made about 12 ounces of juice. I’m drinking this S-L-O-W-L-Y. It’s so good, stimulating, and relaxing.

Stomach rumbling…

Posted on April 13th, 2006 in Personal by Vegan Momma

My workouts have intensified so of course my appetite has increased! Well guess what I lost weight which isn’t what I was trying to do. I’m adding calories back to my daily intake through liquid meals (smoothies, vegetable juices, and fruit juices.) I eat several small meals throughout the day. A little while ago someone told me “You eat too little!” I smiled and said, “No, actually I eat what my body can process in one sitting many people eat too much!” When my body tells me it’s hungry again, I feed it but I don’t overeat no matter how delicious the food.

Tomorrow is a work holiday, woohoo! I’m thrilled. I have a three-day-weekend. You know I love the time I spend with my daughter and take advantage of hanging out with Aiyana whenever possible. I’m excited since I will be able to go to the gym during work hours, it’s not as crowded. I will be able to have a super long workout.

Morning Star has a great article about retirement. Does anyone use their service? They have free & paid membership. You can also check out their Investment Classroom. I really enjoy Morning Star. It’s one way I keep track of what’s going on in the investment world.

Seven Steps to Avoiding a Retirement Crisis
A late-start guide to retirement savings.
by Lawrence Jones

Every day in the newspaper there is another article that might worry those approaching retirement. For example, one might read about large companies unable to meet their pension obligations transferring these pensions to government receivership. Even venerable and financially sound corporations are moving from the defined benefit pension model to the more popular defined contribution options, such as 401(k) plans. Some speculate that returns in the stock market over the next 20 years will not match those we have seen over the past 20. In this environment, it is more important than ever for workers to take charge of their own retirement security. more

The EBRI has written a 28 page brief report that shows many Americans aren’t saving for retirement. You can check it out here.
