Darfur?
Has anyone heard of the crisis in Dafur, Sudan?
Western Sudan is being torn apart by a year-long conflict that has escalated from tribal fighting to become an international humanitarian disaster. It’s estimated that over 30,000 have been killed and the entire area is facing a man-made famine that could jeopardize the lives of many more around a million people have been displaced. If you have not heard about this I’m not surprised. It does not seem to get too much airplay. Check out this website for more information.
Last week as I was driving home I saw a three people along the side of the road with a “Save Dafur” sign. The gentleman features resembled the images I have seen of the people from Dafur.
