I was four years old when I started cooking on a wood-burning cook stove. That was my mother’s main source for cooking family meals until I was ten. I thought the food tasted better on a wood-burning stove. I still do. I remember being four and gathering the unfertilized bantam eggs from the hens nest. I remember eagerly gathering the few eggs and bring them into the house. After my father had eaten his dinner I would say, “Are you hungry daddy?â€
