Mommy to the rescue

A few days ago I had finished putting our food leftovers away. I walked into the living room in time to hear Aiyana consoling herself. She said, “S’ok! S’ok! The airplane won’t hurt you!”
An airplane had just flown over the house.
“Your right, I said giving her a big hug and kiss. “The airplane won’t hurt you.” Your such a smart and brave girl!”
I patted her on the head, and playfully pinched her cheek. Aiyana smiled and gave me a big hug. She looked up at the ceiling and said, “Back off plane, mommy’s here!”
I guess she knows if ‘anything’ bothers her ‘it’ will have to deal with me smart kid, eh? ;-)

It’s cold outside!

I convinced my daughter to sleep in clothes this evening. I can hear it now, “What do you mean CONVINCE her! She’s a child, your the parent. Yeah a parent to one stubborn child. Aiyana usually just sleeps in trainers on top of the covers. I on the other hand and buried ounder a mountain of covers. I sleep like that in the warmer months as well. Of course the air conditioning is cranked up that is how my daughter likes it. Anyway back to my little story Aiyana only wanted to sleep in her trainers but I said, “No, keep the sleepers on. It’s going to be cold out tonight and I don’t want you being cold.” I said, “See mommy has her sleepers on also?” I did, I put on a nightshirt. She was fine when she saw that. She is always emulating mommy.

Bah!

There are times when I cannot decide what to make for dinner. I cook no more than two meals daily. We sat six small meals daily.
The rest of the meals are fresh vegetables and fruit. Our daily intake consists of a lot of raw foods. It’s been that way for over a year. Which reminds me I need to blog more about the fresh vegetables and fruit that we do eat.

LESTERVILLE, Mo. — A dam in rural southeast Missouri failed Wednesday morning after a night of heavy rain and one person was missing in what officials called a “very dangerous situation.”

A family of five was rescued after the Upper Taum Sauk Lake Dam failed at about 6:24 a.m., Reynolds County Sheriff’s dispatcher Ginger Bell said. The National Weather Service warned that conditions along the Black River were creating a “dangerous and life-threatening situation.” Residents of Lesterville and elsewhere downstream from the dam were urged to move quickly to higher ground.

Small creeks and streams, country roads and farmland will be flooded, the agency said.

The dam is in the Ozarks, about 120 miles southwest of St. Louis. Reynolds County has a population of about 6,700
