Huber’s Farm

This morning Aiyana and I went to Huber’s farm to pick our own pumpkins.

There are numerous farms close to where I live. The closest is within a mile from the house. We took a back road when we set out this morning. We passed by a horse farm and later a farm that razed cows. I really felt sad for the cows. Each cows ear was tagged with a number. Wow what a way to be identified, eh?

Here is the necklace I started on a few days ago. It has ‘mom’ written all over it. I will give it to her next weekend.

Yesterday my little helper, Aiyana, and me harvested the last of the sweet potatoes from my garden. We had plenty this year and gave a lot away. We did pretty good, eh? I hosed them off and got most of the dirt off them.

Here is a close-up of the sweet potatoes.

The Pumpkin Patch

pumpkins

I will be taking Aiyana to a local farm this morning. You can pick your own pumpkins. I completely forgot that I had them growing in the garden. They are all the way in the back. The garden is a little over 1/2 acre. At times I forget what I have planted there until it starts to grow. I have a variety of herbs planted and many times I identify the herbs by smell.

Aiyana is sleeping so it gives me a chance to read my emails, respond, take Lalita out for a walk, and prepare her breakfast. I usually have freshly juiced carrot, ginger, and habenero pepper in the morning. It’s a great way to start the day!
