Our Daily Bread
Our Day of Caring (last Thursday) went very well. I took pictures. It was wonderful helping those who in need. I did not take pictures of our guest but I did take ‘before’ and after pictures. Our Daily Bread serves, on average, 600 people daily.
As I was walking downtown, to another office Tuesday morning one of the guests remembered me and started talking to me. I chatted with him for a few minutes. He wanted to know when I would return. I told him in a few weeks. A few weeks, he said why that is too long! :-) He told me how nice it was to come in there and see another friendly smiling face. There are many that do have jobs that come for assistance with food but they are low paying jobs. The meals really help them out. When I returned to my office I saw them again. He sells newspapers. I waved at him and another man I recognized from our Daily Bread and told them I would see them in a few weeks.
