Wide awake

You know I really should be sleeping!  I have an extremely full day tomorrow. Yeah, yeah what else is new! Guess what I have no one to blame but myself in regards to all this extra energy coursing through my veins!  You see I juiced wheat grass, kale, and garlic about two hours ago. What is the big deal? Well those are a few ingredients I add to one of my high energy potions! That blend was vile and nasty. I knew it would be. I drink those nasty green drinks when I run out of an appropriate vegetable to tone down the flavor. I would have added carrots for sweetness but I ran out yesterday. I did not have a chance to go to the store today.

Update on C

Posted on July 8th, 2005 in Personal by Vegan Momma

I saw C yesterday. I have not seen him in a few weeks. It felt odd seeing
him by myself. I usually bring Aiyana along when we visit. He loves my
daughter. We spent about seven hours chatting, eating, and watching a movie up.
I mentioned in a prior post that C would be returning to Iraq. I asked him when
and for how long. He watched me closely as he told me he would be over there
for at least six months.

Salad on a bun

I love adding color in my meal preparations! This sandwich would have been perfect with red bell pepper and
carrots. I need to go shopping tomorrow. The lettuce and the onions came out of
my garden! The ingredients for this were lettuce, onions, and a bean dip I made
from navy beans and kidney beans. The bean dip was delicious. I made it
yesterday. I do not use canned beans only dried beans. It’s not that difficult.
I soak the dry beans during the day or overnight and add to the crockpot/slow
cooker.

My birthing experience

Posted on July 8th, 2005 in Personal by Vegan Momma

I had lost the written record of my birth story and found it a few moments ago. Here is my birthing experience…

05/19/03, Monday 11:30 PM

I was awakened to menstrual like cramps. I got up, since I could not go
back to sleep and went downstairs to work online. I was slightly upset
that I was having these cramps. I thought I was not supposed to have
them while I was pregnant! About 5 minutes later it hit me, Duh
you are experiencing the First Stages (latent) of labor. I tried to go
back to sleep, but could not sleep through the contractions. I got up
and started timing them. They were coming every eight minutes lasting about
30 seconds. I called the midwife on call, Eileen around 1:00 to let her
know what was going on. She told me to get my rest since I most likely
would be having Aiyana later that day. I was at my parents house so I
left a note for them letting them know what was going on and I went
back to bed and lay down even though I could not sleep I rested so I
could save my energy for labor. I did a lot of meditation during this
time, which thoroughly relaxed me.

Re: Interview

I found out yesterday around 11:00 am that I received the job. I am really excited and looking forward to this oppurtunity. I get to do what I love, help others. I will also have a chance to interact with other business owners. A wonderful way to network. I will miss all the time I spend at home with my daughter.

My pressint topic of the moment trying to figure what to wear to work on Monday. Hmm…I have a lot of business suites time to pull them out and put them to use.
